So, I met up with Switchfoot and... (BEHIND THE SCENES)
Okay, this isn't a typical iOS Forum post. But hear me out, this story get good...
I've been a huge fan of Switchfoot. One of my favorite songs of all time is "Dare You to Move". I remember finding out from them from Smallville, the movie, "A Walk To Remember", and also on MTV while growing up in the 2000s.
Earlier this year, I was away from home and heard their song, "Enough to let you go"
And, so I was inspired to make a cover using iOS apps, namely TONALY and Cubasis
Fast forward to a few weeks ago, and I found out they're touring. Sadly, not in Canada, but the closest city was just outside of Chicago.
So, off I went. Exploring a city almost 12 hours from home. Shoutout to Burna Boy who performed downtown that day as well.
Chicago was insane. Enjoyed the scenery, driving on the interstate felt a lot like playing Burnout 3: Takedown with all the crazy turns done by driver. Canadian drivers are a lot nicer when it comes to lane changes.
Here's a clip of Burnout 3: Takedown for reference
So, concert day came. Driving took a little longer than expected, and almost missed this event. Thankfully, arrived just in time and got to talk to the band members. I even got to go behind the scenes and see a lot of what goes behind the stage, and so much more...
Here's the cool iOS related part...Tim Foreman, Switchfoot bassist, and the lead singer Jon's brother, uses Beatmaker 3 in his LIVE SETUP. I asked him to walk me through his setup, and he did. Actually, I asked almost all of them to explain their guitar effects, and got to see the behind the scenes. I'll gather them in a full video and post them here but here's a quick snapshot
Suffice to say, I'm super thankful for yesterday. Got a lot of things to be thankful for.

That's fricken incredible mate! 🤩
awesome! congrats on getting to meet them, fun story!
Thanks for sharing! Nice to read something that isn’t doom!
A real nice journey, thanks for sharing this wonderful story.
@seonnthaproducer this is amazing. Love Switchfoot for nearly 20 years now and they have always been so warm and welcoming before/ after shows. Looking forward to your video.
So cool Tim uses BM3. Redownloading…
Awesome to see they use BM3
That's pretty wild! Glad you got to get such a neat little session with them and found out how the levers get pulled I've been a big fan of Jon Foreman because he sang on the very last album by an industrial band called Mortal on an album called Nu En Jin back in 2002. Vocals are unmistakably Jon. I pull that album out every once in awhile for some nostalgia
../. >.< .../
That's dope Seon. I'll be watching for the video on your Youtubes. Glad you had a magical time.
That’s awesome Seonn! Thanks for sharing!
Great story
As someone with zero patience for online video, I really enjoyed the vid of you recreating their song in Cubasis. Especially loved that you kept in the part where you'd forgotten to arm a track for recording.
Whoa, thanks so much for the support everyone. I'll try and wrap up the editing this week, and get it posted. Had a lot of last minute work sneak in.
Okay, as I'm editing the video, reheard this song I listened to LIVE during the concert. @Ailerom , I think this song is right up your alley. Saw your Samsung video.
EDIT: TURN UP YOUR VOLUME!!!
Yep, cool song. Would have been massive live.
Got a bit preoccupied with other things these past few weeks. Have a full video of the experience coming out soon, from pre-show to the actual show and behind the scenes, but here's the part I mentioned...How Switchfoot's Tim Foreman uses an iPad in his bass setup (in less than 2 minutes)

Here’s the full behind the scenes with Switchfoot. I went backstage with the band, pre-show, and got a side stage view with the band, chatted with them, saw their entire setup (including their iOS and Guitar Pedal Rigs) and even got some souvenirs from them.
It’s like a studio tour…except it’s an entire show.
