Arturia Essential Controllers - MIDI Spec
Hi,
I've been searching for the MIDI specification of Arturia's essential controllers but can't seem to find anything.
The manual states that the pads encoders and sliders can all be assigned to specific CCs, which is all good.
But what I want to know is whether any of the other buttons output CC data and can be repurposed if required.
Also is there any banking for those 8 pads, so that more than 8 assigned samples can be accessed?
Hoping there might be some users here that can answer this.
Thank you!

Just had a quick browse of the manual, you can assign the pads to cc etc but no banks..
If they claim DAW integration, the other buttons probably do send CCs. If the manual does not mention it, they likely cannot be reconfigured. You can use a MIDI monitor to discover these CCs.
You can use a script, like StreamByter, to take the raw data from the controller and map or bank it as you may desire. It takes a bit of work, but the result is then entirely under your control, and can be easily changed by loading a different script.
Thanks ,
Yep, plan is to re -program via the config available within KeyStage.
Shame about the pads though, beginning to think that MPK249 is a better option for what I need.
