Depends a lot on the IRs though. A long big IR will give a big impact on the sound. The included IRs are mostly quite subtle I'd say.
I tried the app on an iPad mini retina and had no problems running several apps in Audiobus and recording the output.
Having had more time to push this a bit, I have only had crashes after switching the layout scheme to Audio Mastering Studio. Otherwise it has performed without a problem.
Thanks @paulinko , are you on iOS 7.1.2?
It is random as mentioned. I've been able to test it out for at least 5-10 min without a crash now. So it kinda comes and goes. It doesn't seem tied to preset switching, a crash can be triggered by touching anywhere from what I've seen. And in worst case, it'll get stuck crashing at opening even if you kill it. Might be some of IRs that triggers something perhaps? I have run the lengthier more resource heavy ones from MoreVox without issues though.
Btw, it converts all the IRs to flac format. Naming of the IR = what device/group it gets placed in. So if you have a lot of IRs I believe batch converting and renaming on your computer, then placing the IRs in the inbox folder (if I remember correctly) would probably be a faster process then doing them one at a time inside the app. But do try it first with one or two files just to be sure.:)
I see it recommends iPad3 and up due to the processing requirements, and I have an iPad2 - but then some people here used it on a 2... Sorely tempted!
So, apart from crashes, how does it actually sound?
What are the stock sounds/presets like?
Is this worth buying if you don't have your own IR files? There being so many reverb apps now, plus reverb units inside DAWs and amp sims, is this just better because of the ability to add your own IR files or does it sound better too?
It looks really great and sounds nice in the video and all that, and I like his other apps, but would I really want another reverb besides AUFX, Auria's convolution reverb etc.? At the intro price, it seems hard to resist though....iPad4, btw...
Wahhh another Igor's app and another instapurchase.... After 15 minutes playing and tweaking I must admit It sounds amazing to my hears. The most important paramateres for control and tweak the sound are there... Incredible value for money! I'll try now to convert my old Altiverb library... very promising. Ipad 3 here running ios 7.1.2 and no probs....
@mmp Aurias convo unit still won't allow you to enable it for live recordings. Hoping that will change later though. That's the reason I bought this (and the low price:). I haven't done any comparison between the two using the same IRs, the demo pack from MoreVox comes with around 125 IRs in wav format, not counting the ones that are split into channels, a bunch of them are the same as the ones found in Auria, so might do a comparison later. But it does sound good for sure.
The stock IRs that I've tested are mostly samples from other reverb units. So mostly "basic" stuff in that sense..What's exciting with this, for me, is that now we finally have a convo unit, outside of Auria, that we can stuff with all kinds of sounds, reverbs, effects etc.
I haven't tried this on my Air yet, but no crashes yet with iPad 2 or iPod Touch 5G. As was said above: these effects are like Igor's other apps, subtle.
Using it on a 2 with Z3TA as the source through AB, zero crashes, no glitches, all okay.
I really like the Solo mode and to be able to hear the reverb without the source. The reverb is subtle, but hearing it solo helps the ear to know what is happening to the sound
I loaded up Aurias convo unit and AltiSpace as IAA, both on the same channel strip. Both using the same "AbbeyPlate" IR from MoreVox, a long, lush demanding IR. Used headphones. And I couldn't really tell any difference in quality. Both units sounded pretty much identical to me (at least on this IR). Except for one thing, the pre-delay on Aurias convo unit goes all the way down to 0 ms, whereas AltiSpace only goes down to 20 ms. This was noticeable. The fact that Aurias built in convo is native doesn't matter, IAA is sample accurate and doesn't introduce latency. The delay isn't that drastic, and will probably be most noticeable on faster things like drums, plucks etc if you're listening for it, but it's there. Not sure if it's a measure taken to lower CPU spikes/usage by the dev, but a lower setting would be welcome.
Thanks @ChrisG, that was helpful!
So how many here just went from asking WTF a convolution reverb was to convincing themselves that they needed one? (Raises hand). I've got my hand hovering over the big shiny red Master FX button now too.
Bought. If anyone gets a chance to try it out with guitar mic & cab IRs before I do, very interested in your results!
Just to share a link for IRs....

Igor has already submitted the fix for the Air issues. Should be out soon.
Bought it after watching Doug's video, great app!

Yep saw a tweet from him, he's asked for an expedited review. Great news!
Thanks @funjunkie27, Looks like a big source for various hardware IRs, definitely gonna check it out later when I got a computer near me:)
Are there any presets for really large spacey verbs ? Much bigger than cathedral...like dark space or bigger ones ?
Anything that is included in the preset or have to load external IR for that?
Wonder would happen if this is put in a AB chain in front of crystalline ? :-)
I'm really liking the results when reversing the IR's. This is a cool reverb app!

The sample length limit for AltiSpace is 4,26 sec, samples above that will be truncated. The MoreVox IRs do have some nice large spaces tho, although not the 15-30 sec huge spaces you can get with any of the algo based reverbs like AUFX & audioreverb. I haven't checked out the ones in the link funjunkie shared yet, but the sample limit would be 4,26sec all the same.
IIRC, Dev. mentioned on FB a week or two ago that he can reduce that 20ms predelay.
Wow, updated version of AltiSpace is out in the App Store now. That's a good developer right there!
Seem to solve the crashes on my Air. Which is cool.
Nice! Both the update, and the news about him hopefully being able to reduce the pre-delay.
I'm finally finished converting and categorizing the freebie IRs from MoreVox. 115 IRs in total, not counting the ones divided up into multiple L & R files. Really good addition to the factory IRs, adding some different spice to the mix.
What kind of 3rd party IR files can be brought into this app? Only .wav files? Any specific bit rate? 44.1 or 48k Hz?

Shamelessly copied from the manual:
"The application supports audio files with impulse response samples in formats: wav, aif, aiff, mp3, mp4, m4a, aac, caf, au, snd, flac. Sample rate of source file can be 44100, 48000, 88200, 96000 Hz. Bit depth 16, 24, 32 bits. One Mono or Stereo sample in file.
Maximum time of one sample 4.260 sec. Samples longer than this time will be truncated during the converting.
You can upload sample files in several ways:
Upload through internal Web access service (button "Web access" in the "Settings" - "Files")
Use "Open in" for an audio file from another application (like AudioShare, Mail, etc)
Paste file from audio clipboard (button "Paste" in the "Settings" - "Files")
Use iTunes file sharing
After uploading you need to convert sample before you can use it (button "Convert to sample"). After successful converting the sample file will be available in the "Samples" (in "Settings") list and in the main list of samples."
cool. Thanks! Too bad it can't read Altiverb files.
Awesome! So lets start sharing!
Anyone has the Sydney Opera House IR?
