Help me a find gear vacuum!
Ok. I'm kinda embarrassed by just how un-rock-and-roll this question is but fuck it, I'm 50. Lawn, etc.
I try to keep my hardware covered but regularly forget. My studio is in a mostly unfinished basement which seems to generate more dust than any place else on earth.
I'm looking for something like a dust buster (rechargeable, wireless) but with a nice brushed end (like many vacuums have via hose attachment). By "nice" I mean: sturdy enough to dislodge dust so that it might be swallowed up by the vacuum yet soft enough to not mess up my gear.
Currently, I use a wide, soft bristled paint brush to dust stuff off manually along with a portable dust buster type thing (sans-brush) to suck it up. It's not a great system; I think I put at least as much dust back into the air as I get sucked up.
I could just get a plug-in vacuum with said hose+brush attachment but I already own a stand-up vacuum for the house (sigh, no attachments) and don't really want another.
What do ya'll use? I know I'm not the only old nerd here.

Give it up @Will. They all suck.
I use a paintbrush for general dusting duties, and my regular vacuum whenever I clean the room.
Dust covers.
A vacuum can't go inside pots, switches or sliders.
My MPC One is the perfect dust magnet, those pads consume epithelial tissue.
You can buy a “keyboard vacuum”, I’ve seen colleagues at work use them. I can’t say I’ve ever used one but when I saw it at work I instantly thought of using it on my gear… seems potentially safer than using a regular vacuum cleaner.
If you search Amazon or any other larger online retailer, you’ll find them.
I do think covering your gear is the best and safest way to keep it in tip-top working order… but I totally forget to cover my stuff too 🤷♂️
Dust-Off? And, of course, cover everything.
I still use a boar's hair car detailing brush and a regular vacuum with the hose attachment. I've never found a smaller option that had as much suck-tion.
Hahaha. When I'm lucky enough to have all of the replies be from my personal list of AB Forum most-admirables... I guess I'll give up, keep using my paint brush and try to stay on top of covering my gear.
Thanks, ya'll.
Are you saying that in a vacuum or you have proof?
I use a nice plastic straw and ready ready rinse a lot with mouth wash. Of course, the X-rays show some nasty dark spots on my lungs. Still..l trade offs and priorities.
Seriously, don’t suck… blow. Use the stuff you can get to clean a camera (a bulb and brush affair). No aerosols that releases chemicals that create ozone. Trade offs and priorities.
