Distrokid digital music distribution
I am not sure if I can post this here. Asking Admin Permission. Please advise, and assist, if possible.
I had some conversation with Linear Lineman about my newfound Distrokid, and he asked me if I can share this finding on this forum.
Hi my name is ReneAsologuitar, and I wanted to announce that I am so happy to have found Distrokid, and I am now able to upload my original compositions, unlimited number of uploads, for only 20 dollars per year.
Check out "Distrokid", and sign-up by clicking the below link:
https://distrokid.com/vip/seven/4134188
When you click this button, I get some referral bonus, and you get 7% discount on your subscription.
At this time, I am limiting my uploads to "original compositions", to keep my fees to a minimum (20 dollars a year), and take advantage of the unlimited number of digital music uploads.
You can choose to release a single or an album.
Your music will then be distributed and sold in many digital music outlets like Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music, iTunes, and many more stores.
Now you can release your single or album, with ease and quality!!!
Thank you so much!!!

I don't know about the category, but what's not permitted FOR SURE is the ALL CAPS 🤣
I do apologize for the all caps.
And thank you so much, SevenSystems!!!
We all want to post in all caps, Rene. It's just that we’re all afraid to do it. Distrokid looks good, IMHO. And, gee whiz, Forbes like it!
PS, POST STUFF LIKE THIS IN OFF-TOPIC. (See, they can’t get you in the body copy. LIVE IT UP, BRO!)
@ReneAsologuitar , Done. It was very easy. Thanks for the heads up, mate!
PS, I paid extra for Loudness Correction ($2.99 1x), Mastering Standard ($7.99 1xj) and Legacy ($29 1x, keeps tracks up and in stores forever… well, relatively forever.). Total outlay: $60.
SoundCloud is $144 per yr, BandCamp is free (they deduct their small share). Distrokid is 100% of sale price minus any store markup.
The “Legacy” extra is per album, right?.
I’m thinking of getting a Distrokid subscription to force me to finish tracks and upload them instead of lingering forever in the “I’ll finish it at some point”. But other services like EmuBands are cheaper for the album “keeping tracks forever” concept. I’d hate to have some sort of payment problem and loosing all my tracks. Hell, or dying! 😱🥵 I’d want those songs to remain…
@tahiche, I assumed it was all tracks. I wouldn’t have done it for one. But I could be wrong.
“Leave a Legacy costs a one-time fee of $49 USD for albums (or any release composed of two or more songs) and $29 USD for singles” there’s a good article explaining Distrokid features here.
Uploading an album on EmuBands is around 25€ so it’d make sense financially to use Distrokid for day-to-day and another service for “perpetual” albums and songs. 29€ for a single song sounds like too much imo .
Thanks @tahiche. They advise deleting the track for a refund, which I did.
Hi Linear Lineman,
You are amazing.
It usually take a few days to a week, before your song gets in the stores.
The process is really easy. The also have a way for your song to be heard, by going to Distrokid website and play "Wheel of Playlist" under Goodies. You can play this song promotion game once in 24 hour period.
At this time, again, I am limiting myself to $20.00 per year, unlimited original compositions upload.
Looks like Bandcamp is also very nice deal.
Thank you for your subscription, and the additional info, very informative.
Rene
Glad to hear that they are doing refunds.
Great info from: tahiche - thank you so much for the additional info.
