1. an effusively enthusiastic or ecstatic expression of feeling.
I think “ecstatic expression of feeling” is exactly how this should be described.
Love this one !
Do you really come up with pieces like this in one take, without any preparation or mental construction beforehand, just by sitting and letting your fingers go on the keyboard? If so, it is truly remarkable and I can't understand why the hell you haven't built a carrier out of such a gift. Sounds like a waste...
Hi Linear Lineman,
Wow, as janKun just described, your talent is incredibly amazing.
I love your creations, and have newfound respect for your ingenuity and creativity.
Wonderful piano playing.
Rene
Thanks for the continued listening, @MadeofWax.I enjoy your comments a lot.
@jankun, yes a one take with no midi edits on this one. I usually don’t have any thoughts as to content, but I might think of a genre. I operate off my feeling at that moment. As to making more of my gift, I’m missing some of the component musical parts necessary for a pro composer/musician.
Those deficits probably saved me from ruining the musical freedom I now enjoy.
Thanks @ReneAsologuitar for the kind words. This will be my first Distrokid release, thanks to you. 😘🙏
Very good stuff Lineman!
I'm curious what components you think you're missing?
Additionally, this could be beautiful in the Vampyr soundtrack. Maybe the audio and midi for this could be thrown in the collective folder?
I wish the rest of my day would go like this... but no.
Very nice. I would enjoy seeing a transcription of your improvisations.
I am also really curious to know. In my book, someone able to improvise a piece like this one, in one go, without any post edit, has all he needs to become at least a pro composer. But I get that becoming a pro musician might be another story.
Sorry @gavinski, no midi available for this one,
@Paulieworld, all transcription attempts have not worked as separating the bass and treble are always a problem for me I recall @McD had some success with StaffPad. He might still have a copy of something. Personally, I find the midi captures more interesting….
@JanKun, sure. The biggest issue is when I hear music I have very little clue as to what’s going on harmonically. I can’t identify types of chords generally, or why music works/progresses much beyond
2-5-1. I can’t even analyze my own stuff harmonically (or hear/identify what’s happening). @McD and many musicians can do this pretty easily, but not me.
Also, I have a very hard time playing with other musicians as I cannot understand what they are doing, unless it’s a tune I really know. I can play free with others as itks a feeling route, not intellectual.
Finally, I have difficulty playing even a simple known melody by ear without struggling. That would include songs like Happy Birthday…. Tho I can probably can do that one by now.
I have developed what I am good at and what interests me musically. I can conjure a genre, innovate melodically, use my left hand to create shapes of chords rather than “hearing” what it’s going to sound like. All these abilities allow me to create linearly and with some originality. I am not bound by understanding what has gone before. I just feel it and go.
Hope that helps you understand why pro musician was not a good career choice for me. Actually, I consider those shortcomings good fortune. Even expert musicians like @McD had to turn to Elgin to accomplish his financial goals. I did try songwriting, but I have a weird, low pitched, voice. But, I can improvise and almost never get stuck. The pressure of doing that professionally would probably have destroyed that ability and freedom.
🙏
when I see @LinearLineman I definitelly want to listen
also during my excersizes I think about you, and somehow about @Janosax….
again this piece is charging my musical battery
can I ask what Midi controller is used to drive all of this niuances?
beautyfull music!
@LinearLineman Cubasis has a “mixdown” options for audio or midi. Any of your existing projects could be shared as a MIDI file.
I asked you for the Cubasis project file and made my own mixdown as midi to import into StaffPad.
If you need workflow support to do the right steps just ask… I know your fighting against going blind and small text menus are your worst nightmare. How you made 500+ projects in that menu driven app just shows “where there’s a Will…”
Of course you have every right to limit the sharing of your work just because someone asks. They are your children… the fruit of your hands and fertile mind.
@McD, you mean I can mixdown a wav as a midi file in Cubasis? How do I do that??
