@echoopera i thought u were .us?
I’d also recommend the AVB over the mk5 anyday
I got an M4 earlier this year. Works fine, out of the box, sounds great, seems solidly built. So far, no sign of the paint problem mentioned earlier, but it just sits on the desk in my studio. At the time I was looking at the Steinberg UR44, but they were out of stock everywhere and the MOTU was available, and cheaper. Haven’t regretted it, especially as it turned out to have DC coupled outputs so I can use outputs 3 and 4 to send two channels of CV out to my hardware synths.
I am in the US...but the AVB isn't available from any retailer any where in the world from my internet searches.
I just assume everything is out of stock everywhere. I went to Home Depot the other day and they were out of blue tape. Like really?
Is this act going on the road?
It’s the previous version, which is functionally the same. The only downside is that the iConnect software for changing the routing is deprecated, and has a glitchy UI on M1 Macs. Solid interface though.
I did! That’s the thread that convinced me to get one. Sold it though, but only because it was too big. Would buy again if I had the space.
If by On The Road you mean in my backyard, then yes. 🤪
Another vote for the Steinberg UR44. Love mine.
Built well, super reliable and other adjectives.
@echoopera be interested to see what audio interface you choose in the end as tried to go iPad only with hardware pieces ie Polyend Tracker, MPC One, MC 101, Microfreak etc but was having problems with ins and outs showing in AUM.
Currently my OP-Z with Line Module is my on-the-go interface. One stereo in, two stereo outs, another mono in (via line splitter on the headphone socket), plus USB-C iPad or OP-1.
And TRS MIDI. Plus of course the sequencer, BT MIDI, and the sequencer.
i use this one with my ipad. I e had it for a year. great so far. I would recommend using a powered usb hub when used with an ipad. I had a few instances when the ipad was running a lot of fx apps, the focus right would sag in power, and audio signal would get quieter. but once i attached to usb hub. it runs perfectly. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Scarlet4i4G3--focusrite-scarlett-4i4-3rd-gen-usb-recording-interface?mrkgadid=1000000&mrkgcl=28&mrkgen=gtext&mrkgbflag=0&mrkgcat=studio&recording&acctid=21700000001645388&dskeywordid=43700057239809943&lid=43700057239809943&ds_s_kwgid=58700006217901790&device=m&network=g&matchtype=e&adpos=largenumber&locationid=9022412&creative=469710240401&targetid=aud-297527862170:kwd-294946022790&campaignid=1337142864&awsearchcpc=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw_7KXBhCoARIsAPdPTfhix2IG5oTzlsQxfxjfy3d2g3yBe9W-niVgoYMiVIOsuNBlhCnD33waAuIqEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
That works. Your audience size will only be limited by your amp’s wattage.
I have steinberg ur22 mkii(same as ur44, but 2 in/out) and focusrite 6i6 mki. I havent used the steinberg with ipad in long time, but last when i did, it sometimes dropped out for a second for unknown reason. 6i6 has been rock solid and they are dirt cheap used. If you dont mind used, i think 6i6 is best value for money. Also the headphone output is not very loud on the ur22, barely gets loud enough with my AKG semi open headphones, when making music and not always loud enough for loud listening from some sources. 6i6 has plenty of output in headphone outs. You need some very high impedance headphones for it to not be loud enough. Also i think i remember 6i6 handled input straight from eurorack better.
