  • Yes, good. You’ve gotten a much more fluid feeling on this one compared to past excursions. Onward and inward.

You know what they call that fluid feeling at our age? Incontinance.

Day 36 visiting the hospital with no end in sight. Just shoot me.

    Film style tension… chromatic mediants.

Definitely cinematic. Makes me think of a montage during the hero’s struggle, so the title works on a different level in my mind.
I do hope the struggles eventually have a happy ending.
Best wishes to you and your family.

Thanks. Life is good. Much better than the alternatives.

  • I agree, very cinematic, yet dramatic and quite suspenseful.
Also very melodic, like someone is telling a very interesting story.
You are in my thoughts and prayers, Mike!!!
This music you made is a story about fighting, and this is in appreciation of your fight.
We are behind you, and this music says, "keep going"!!!
Thanks for your inspiration to all of us!!!

  • Superb composition and thoughtful arrangement. A lot of emotion in this piece. Very well done. More please!

As I hope you can imagine... this one took a lot of time entering notes with the pencil.
But being lazy I do use "lasso and paste" when I can.

I do that a lot in the piano roll editor, so I feel your pain (or joy, when it's finished).

I have never tried that. I'll give it a shot on my iPhone today. I have a lot of spare time on my hands.

  • It gives me feelings in my own dark passage.

  • Highly enjoyable medicine, thanks bringing that out of your imagination.

People ask me “why do you like this sad music?” And I put their name in a list labeled “Not Sad”. Further questioning can further refine them into genres:

    • In denial
    • Clueless
    • Putting up appearances
    • HyperNormal
    • “Jesus Has the Wheel”

If this offends you make your own lists.

    Sad.

    Sad.

How rare for you to be so terse. Can I get a little more from your highly opinionated brain than one rather ambiguous interjection?

Do you eschew sad music? Because a large portion of your catalog is pretty sad.

If fact I suspect you are working pretty damn hard to avoid major sadness. I see a dark cloud hanging over your doghouse.

The conflict in Ukraine can ruin a perfectly good world outlook and inspire some moody reveries.

Keeping the thread on page one is bound to make someone very sad since they came here to learn something to help them make better loops. Loops make me sad.

  • Trump says “Sad”. I said “Sad”. I said it because Trump says it, which makes it anything but.

Quoting Trump for a cheap laugh… got ‘cha. Humor is the best defense against the Orange Julius Caesar.

He’s calling his Orcs to confront the FBI… it would be interesting to see one of his properties turned into a scene of domestic terrorism so he has to pay for the clean up and repairs this time. Consequences that matter to him.

  • I notice that “Trump” now features within Wikipedia’s article re: Godwin’s Law (subsection: “Generalization, corollaries, and usage”)

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin's_law

    This makes me happy.

  • Lovely chromatic mediants… as if I know what they are?
Lovely piece of music though… for some reason an aerial shot of a car driving through a Nordic pine forest came to mind, perhaps a lost Hitchcock film with Cary Grant driving…
