Drambo modulation info
Hi guys. Hope all is well.
so I’ve just started learning Drambo as a synth and would like to asks some questions.
how do I make the modulators (lfo, Graph lfo) to activate when a note is pressed rather than it playing constantly?
in serum, you can do FM synth Using for example osc b to “modulate” osca phase. Is that possible in Drambo? What I’ve tried doing it tapping on Phase of osc b then choosing osca as signal to modulate the phase. Is that correct? Thanks in advance for the reply

As suggested, connect the LFO gate input to the MIDI to CV gate output.
I believe that will not work, because the Phase setting just sets the initial phase of the osc. Instead, check out the FM Operator module. That should get you started.
Edit: Actually, it does work in the Wavetable Osc. The other oscs do not include a phase control.
There's a lot more Drambo knowledge on the BeepStreet Forum. There's also some wiki info on this forum.
Can’t believe I missed that.
@uncledave
Thanks for the reply guys.
I think I got it now. I added a new midi to cv before the osc. Set that to 16 voices and then the main midi to cv to 1 voice to which modulators and gated .
Thanks
I don't think you needed to do that. I believe everything in Drambo is polyphonic, so each voice has its own LFOs, etc. Unless you really want the LFO to reset on every note, of course.
That may be the case but I‘ve been doing exactly this since getting the wavetable osc iap and have been achieving some very very FM-like results - the output of osc b in Drambo reacting & sounding exactly how I would expect it to.
In fact, I‘ve got seriously close to recreating Serum patch tutorials off Youtube using this technique (usually I find its Drambo‘s filters that stop me getting even closer)
very interesting indeed. i do also get similar fm result when i campare it to serum on the pc.
do you have any serum like patch you’d like to share?
i’m trying to create one my self but i get stuck with the modulation section.
i believe we could recreate Phase plant synth in Drambo and even more since almost everything can be modulated.
oh i see. in come cases, like with a pad sound, it’s nice to have the lfo trigger when a chord comes it. for example to open the cutoff filter .
@attakk @uncledave is there a way to get something similar to a Macro knob?
Use one knob to modulate multiple targets? Just route the knob to those modulation points (little > next to a control). You can use a Morph to gain access to a control without an arrow. And you can use the A<—>B slider to morph between two configurations with any or all parameters different.
Edit: You need to tap the icon with light and dark boxes and a tiny fader underneath to access the A<—>B slider. It used to be there always.
