Irig midi and lightning connection
Anyone had any luck connecting irig midi to an ipad with lightning connection? I've been given an iPad Air (I know, I know, still can't quite believe it) and I'm trying to make it work. I bought a lightning to midi adapter from Amazon. Not the Apple one, but not the dirt cheap one either, it works as a charger but there's no midi info coming through. Don't really want to splurge on a the new irig midi2, just want my old x-station 25 to play nicely with the Air. Any suggestions?

Official Apple adapter is my suggestion.
I use the Apple 30 pin to lightening adapter for the original iRig midi and haven't had any problems. You can even charge your iPad at the same time which you can't do with the iRig midi 2.

We are working on a more elegant and far-reaching solution related to this so look out for something in the coming months.
Just use your knock off lightning connector to connect your ipad to x station via usb. It works perfectly like this you won't need anything else. If I remember well the monitor knob acts as a blend between the internal synth and the ipad sounds.
Thanks, guys. @supadom, that sounds the simplest solution, but the adapter doesn't work that way either. So it looks like another trip to the Apple store for a new lightning CCK. Sigh, I have so many expensive bits of iplastic now, opening the drawer depresses me

I have always ever connected my ipad to the xstation in that way so it must be something with the leads. Before you buy the apple cck you'd want to try a different usb cable. I'm assuming your x-station is plugged into the wall socket (?). Of course there's also a possibility that the knock off cck you bought is different from the one I had.
