A decade of music making

I've realised its just over 10 years since I released my first albums on Bandcamp - at the time all done with Nanostudio 1 (plus a handful of extra apps like Thumbjam, Animoog, Addictive, etc.). In some ways I do miss those simple days when I just had 16 Eden synth or sampler tracks (or for the very first tracks 4 Eden synth and 1 sampler tracks) on an iPod Touch or iPad 2 with very limited FX options. Since 2016 I've been using AUM and "improvising" and recently using more hardware toys flavoured with iOS apps (which I notice largely still comprises of Thumbjam, Animoog and Addictive ), especially for live performances.

A big "thank you" to all the developers who made this possible - and opened up a load of doors along the way. 10 years ago I wouldn't have believed I would be preparing yet another 30 minute live electronic ambient/berlin school set....

So to relive those fun early days of iOS music making in 2011/2012....

  • Time well spent. Very thoughtful and musical. Ambient producers here can learn from this, I think.

Very nice. Reminds me of Steve Hillage’s Rainbow Dome Musick, listening to it in 1979 as a teenager drunk on cheap cider, lying on the grass talking pseudo philosophical shit and staring at the sky after midnight, having scaled the fence into the local park with my hippie mate, whose album it was… great days! :)

  • Hi kitejan,
    I am loving your music.
    Very relaxing indeed!
Congratulations on your 10 year-anniversary of music making in bandcamp.

Hear Hear! May the decades keep rollin'.

  • Very nice… felt a bit Kate Bushy from 3:30 onwards which is obviously a complement… would have expected heavy metal coming from Sheffield!
