Hi Mike,
I had dinner last night with a special group who I traveled with to the Holy Land 6 months ago, where we visited the Holy sites with "no lines", what a blessing.
And our host, a woman played her grand piano, and her playing was very similar too the keyboard touch in the beginning of this song.
Lovely.
Rene
Glad I checked it out. This one is on fire. How long did it take you?
Wonderful melodic lines and furious fabulous piano and sax riffs. Love the way this swings.
Thank you for listening and commenting @sczcyp and @MadeofWax. Appreciated!
Hi @ReneAsologuitar. Visiting Israel is, indeed, a special experience. I stayed in Jerusalem for weeks at a time when I (ridiculously) thought I might turn myself into an Orthodox Jew. It’s unlike any other place I have visited. Strangely, I never thought to play the piano while I was there.
@myapologies, it took me 90 seconds to improvise the piano part, which I repeated. The arrangement, and technical fiddling took about two hours.
I was going to comment on this last night, but I was getting really sleepy. Once again, this transports me back to the 'old' Jazz Showcase. I really like how the mood changes at the 1:30 mark. Hmmm... seems I've heard that somewhere before. Nice lively jazz track!
BTW - the 'technical fiddling' you mentioned above, is my favorite part of the process. Only 2 hours? I could have milked this for days!
@Paulieworld, yes 1:30 the magic time. Unfortunately, this was just the time stamp when I repeated my 90 second solo. Glad I could transport you.
