Hi Paulieworld,
I can feel the tension in this composition.
And very true, this is anger management, during a most intense moment of battle.
I love the beat and the percussion in the middle of the song.
Great title and vibe, very imaginative and fitting creation.
Rene
Thank you, Rene. We need to turn the temperature down. It's getting out of hand. Stay calm. Be still. Everything will be alright.
I felt that. As someone who was raised by a father who passed on poor emotional regulation I frequently have to battle the intense emotions that roil beneath the surface. You have definitely captured the feeling. I’m going to save this one for those moments when things start to boil over. Great music!
I really like this stuff. It gets me. I like the pace and the sway. Of course, the minimalist repetitions. What’s the piano? A good sound.
I was moved to interpretive dance… it was liberating. Unfortunately I was listening in the car. It’s going to cost me a new MacBook to pay for the ticket. I told the cop I had a bee in the car and it left when I rolled down the window.
Music just moves me and I move it right back. Yin/Yang. Push/Pull. AC/DC. What goes up…
Seriously, really fun piece. It made me smile… imagining those musicians that would have to practice for months to make these sounds in their analog domain.
Very good track @Paulieworld. Perfect timing too.
“imagining those musicians that would have to practice for months to make these sounds in their analog domain.” How great would that be to watch live though?
And: “I was moved to interpretive dance.” Whatever the cover charge is would not be enough.
Thanks Mac. I'm sorry to hear about your dad. I guess I was pretty lucky. My childhood could have been 'Leave it to Beaver'. I'm glad you heard what I was hearing. I mentioned Tigran Hamasayan earlier. That is what I was trying for. Looking forward to getting started on 'CouldThisBeBop'. I think it will be fun.
Thanks Mike. I appreciate that. I don't think 'minimalist' ever crossed my mind, though! There are 2 piano apps - Pure Piano and Ravenscroft. You can't go wrong with either of them. Thanks for listening!
Interpretive dance? LOL! I'd pay to see that. I have been listening to a composer/pianist named Tigran Hamasayan for a few months. I really get into his style. This was a feeble attempt to simulate what he does. However, he is a brilliant composer and technician, and I am a hack. He probably practices 8-10 hours a day and gets paid for it. He is surrounded by an ensemble of highly skilled, creative musicians that share his vision. I am just a guy sitting on his patio with an iPad and an adult beverage. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Looking forward to more of your StaffPad creations.
Thanks Ben! The great thing about making music on an iPad is that the 'band' is only as good as I can make it. Timing is never a problem since it is being controlled by a computer. I would love to hear a live ensemble play some of my stuff. I don't think I could afford it, though. Thanks for listening!
Thankfully my dad mellowed and I grew to understand where a lot of his anger came from. Before he passed 15 years ago we had reached a place you could consider "close". I still have to be careful about letting my temper take over. Years of learning bad communication makes me wary of confrontation.
I'll keep my eyes peeled and ears ready for our collaboration. I'm looking forward to it.
You do produce some amazing stuff, never a dull moment! More please… which given I’m 9 days behind has probably happened already 😊
I fell for that too many times. I’ll provide Bank Transfer details and you get 1 minute per $1000. Deposit first and a few days to clear and move to a secure account at another bank. PS: Do you have additional requirements like nudity or the bunny costume?
The complex rhythm dude? He’s taken the mental side of music right up to the edge of AI.
Hardly.
Hack: noun. a person, as an artist or writer, who exploits, for money, his or her creative ability or training in the production of dull, unimaginative, and trite work; one who produces banal and mediocre work in the hope of gaining commercial success in the arts: As a painter, he was little more than a hack.
There’s no way you’re getting paid.
Sure. I’ll bet he’s making $5 an hour over time.
Forget the $5… he’s probably going into debt or has a rich spouse or parents.
Now we’re talking. Amateur: “One who creates for the love of it.”
Don’t hold you breathe. @jankun has created a work on top of one of my piano pieces. Stay tuned.
Thanks Tony! I also don't comment as often as I would like to. Life just gets int the way. I'm glad you can listen when you can. Have a great day!
