No drum sounds in midi pattern sequencer?
Everything else works fine, but for the life of me I can't get drums to sound/play, here's some screen shots of my setup:

In JM, try setting the channel in your midi drum instrument to ch10.

Tried that, hasn't worked yet.
C4, in MPS,probably doesn't map to one of the drums probably doesn't map to any drum in JM. Most drums in JM are in the 2nd octave range.
Yes, drums apps can often have different midi note numbers to trigger them and frequently use channel 10. If you read the manual for the app or do a search for the midi mapping of the app, you can usually get the info.
I tried channel 10 & different octaves and still no sound. I'm such a midiot, I know I'm missing something obvious.
Try all channels, play c2 til c4
The 'midi' instrument in Jam Maestro by itself is pure midi and plays no sounds. You can record the incoming midi notes with the midi instrument, and then copy and paste the bars into another drum instrument to hear the sounds.
You can check if midi messages are getting through in JM by looking in the midi instrument tab window while your drum app is playing. You should see X's by the different drums flashing on and off if it's set up correctly. By the looks of the last picture the drums are set on channel 3, so I would try that. I've successfully gotten DrumStudio talking to JM. DM uses the general midi drum standard so I'm pretty sure the notes for the drums need to match that:

I've tried drum perfect & Korg gadget as well, still no drum sound. I've also tried c2-c4, no dice.
Good ol' Alchemy is the only app I'm getting drum sounds from, this is fast becoming my favorite app.
It depends whether the app has midi notes in, not all drum apps do. I don't think Jam Maestro does, I can't find any place in JM's midi settings for note in. I'm pretty sure you can use the sequencer in JM to trigger drum notes in other apps.
I know Drum Perfect does not have midi notes in yet because I really want it. It will sync to midi clock.
I haven't tried Gadget yet but that only has midi in for the currently loaded Gadget with no way to select midi channel. If you have a drum gadget loaded it might work.
I have had success getting midi notes into Drumjam, Sampletank, BS-16i (with drum soundfonts loaded of course). Most respond on midi channel 10 which is standard for drums. I'm sure DrumStudio would respond to midi notes in.
I got it working. In JM, you need to go to play mode, within the drum part, to find the midi mappings (upper right of the screen.). I just used C2, D2, and F#2 to test it in MPS. I noticed the test worked fine in the general track settings, but the sequencing wouldn't work. To enable that, I went to the pattern editor tab within settings and disabled the last two items - Send Transport, and Send Midi Clock. Worked fine from that point. All tracks have to set to midi ch 10, and set as drum tracks too. Also, make sure JM is specified as the midi device to output to.
@fj, thanks I'm gonna give that a go.
Got it to work in JM but I got confused a little by your description. In JM you go to the screen where you add instruments and add a drum instrument and on the screen where you pick the drum kit, scroll down the page where you will see the midi in settings which you have to turn on because it's off by default. Never thought to scroll down that page.
Thanks!!
Yeah...I wasn't really referring to that....I forgot to mention it. Once you've done that and go to the play mode of the drum track, the midi mappings is in the upper right. Good catch though @yowsa.
Yep that was driving me crazy because I didn't see any midi mappings at all. I couldn't figure out what you were talking about. All is well now.
Thanks!
Huh, scrolling. Imagine that. I didn't see that befor, nor did I realize you could import your own drum samples into the app.
Thanks fj27, JM is up & drumming
Good to hear!
Ok, I have no problem getting multiple synths to play in patterns, but when I go to use the patterns in a song, only one synth will play, frustrating, but I'm learning.
