Recording guitar in Drambo
There's a separate thread on using Drambo as a guitar effect. This one is just about tracking: what's the best way to record audio (such as guitar) and then sequence those recordings so they come in at the right time?
I have a notion that I could use Loopy Pro for this, but I don't know how to connect a loop with Drambo's sequencer.

I would use the Flexi Sampler. Use as many as you need or play all your riffs in a row, set slice markers in Flexi's wave editor and trigger the slices when you need them.
Another option would be to use the Sampler module: With key-to-record, you can record what you play as long as you hold a MIDI note (which could come from a MIDI footswitch board). This is probably the fastest way to record and have everything mapped to MIDI notes automatically.
If you use Loopy as an AU then you have the option of using its timeline rather than triggering it. I have not used it with Drambo, but that’s how I use it with NS2.
I just tried this. It's easy to coordinate stuff near the beginning of a song, but Loopy's song pointer doesn't follow Drambo's. If you jump to a different row in Drambo's sequencer, Loopy's sequencer doesn't follow. I'm not saying "You can't make a song this way," because obviously you can. I'm just looking for the best way.
It's possible that the real answer is "Drambo's not a complete DAW yet, even if you can make it do DAW-like things. Use it for what it's good for."
Use Flexi Sampler. It works great for what you want.
Another thing I do is use Egoist and manually trigger slices. I like this because I can assign different effects per slice in the effects sequencer.
Ah, that’s a shame. Sounds like Flexi Sampler or perhaps triggering Loopy rather than using its sequencer is the way forwards.
Ok, Flexi Sampler! Can anyone recommend a video where we see this process in action? I have watched a couple of tutorials about the features of Flexi Sampler, but there's a gaping gulf between my grasp of the features and my understanding of how to use them in this situation.
About ten years ago, I would record string parts in Thumbjam and audio paste them into Nanostudio 1's drum sampler. It worked -- I could arrange songs that way -- but it felt like a kludge even then.
You can set midi triggers for loopy’s clips and send those triggers for Drambo’s sequencers they way you would to any AU.
That sounds doable, especially if I make a Loopy template with a dozen MIDI triggers already set up. Some (maybe all) of the doughnuts would be set to "play once" instead of "loop."
You can also have them be one-shots if not meant to loop.
