Quick Gadget question as regards Madrid not working....?

Been a while, but opened up Gadget and all I play with therein makes nice, apart from Madrid, the excellent bass unit, which is COMPLETELY silent. Could well be user stupidity (usually is), but anyone else run into problems of late with it?

Is this one of those “have to reinstall it in some sort of Masonic handshake way” that a lot of other gadget synths irritate with?

Hmmm. Maybe. Can you reinstall just one gadget at a time?

  • Just tried Madrid and it works ok here.

Thanks Mister Phil. I have no doubt it is some vague marriage between my bad luck and these large fingers etc.

  • I'd create a new project and test the gadget there. if it works, it's likely something in a specific project.

  • Madrid is working fine here. In my experience, a completely silent gadget means the IAP needs to be reinstalled. (I had a similar experience when I opened some iPad projects on my iPhone. The IAP tracks were silent because I hadn't installed them -- or installed them correctly -- on my iPhone. Once I did, they came to life again.)

  • Worked fine for me about 5-7 days ago what iOS are you on?

On the latest, as ever, which might be a thing, but seems too localized with JUST Madrid acting up. I think I need to figure out a good backup plan and then a reinstall will likely be in order :)

@dokwok2 good thought, thanks for that.

@KirbyMumbo yup, it's not working in anything, old or new. Time to find the rifle :)

Did you try to restore gadgets?

You could also try to “Reset current work” from Gadget’s utility menu in main settings.

  • Thanks @R_2 I DID restore all but no joy (i was so hopeful too :) I am just trying to be zen with the whole matter, but it's irksome because Madrid is excellent (of course)....I think at some point, once I've figured out a back-up I believe in, a fresh install might be the only way to go....

@JohnnyGoodyear yeah, I really expected a ‘restore’ would do it..
Sometimes a restore mysteriously fixes it at another attempt, so you might wanna try (multiple times) at another moment.

Perhaps an iPad restart fixes something..?

Reinstalling Gadget would be my last resort :/ Make sure to first backup the Gadget maps in both “On My iPad” and iCloud.

Also, I wouldn’t delete Gadget as a whole. First try the “offload” app function which will keep the app data on your device. Than you can reinstall Gadget from there and hopefully that fixes Madrid.

Very sound there Skipper. I have NOT tried the offload and that will be my next step....weirdly (of course) I played with Gadget a whole bunch more (albeit without Madrid) and was reminded -again- what a box of good rocks it is. Thanks again.
