Synthmaster does.
👍🏼 Yay, thanks for the confirmation
I'd be in for PatternBud if it had PC, I'd use it to control session switching on my novation gear. LP Pro, Circuit, MonoStation and SLMKIII all use PC for this.
SunVox ?
I don't know if the AUv3 can act as a MIDI sequencer, and it would be a bit tedious to set up unless I create a template.
I just did a quick check and loaded the SunVox AUv3 into an AUM MIDI track: You get four MIDI outputs and one input, so my guess is that the tracker should work. Have a look at the manual at https://warmplace.ru/soft/sunvox/ if you are interested.
The more I use PatternBud the more I like it. Yes, it can be replaced by a LFO or an automation (Drambo for ex) but it has it's own simplicity that makes it very straightforward and gives a lot of ideas
@cem_olcay Noticing an issue with actions. They appear to be become active only after the existing configuration has gone through one completed patterns. Also, when I use skip or random action, the bar animation disappears from all the track steps in the track which had an action had added. For example, I added random action on step 1 of track 1, the animation disappears from all four steps.
The updates are on the way!
Awesome, thanks! 😄
Looks like a nice app BUT it would be cool to have something like a slider next or below to the boxes to adjust the value of the midi cc on the step ,as far as i can understand from the video you have to dive on the menu to change the value of the cc everytime, this is not ideal for performance or jam.it kills the whole proccess
Bingo. On that front @cem_olcay, the scrolling necessary to change, let's say, scales, in the other apps, is a real joy-killer for me. I wonder if there is a better, faster, more direct way to pick out a scale from a list of 100+ scales.
Yes, I’ll make an update on that.
Does it also send program change messages?
The copy-past of step is not working correctly on my ipad pro and iphone 13. In fact the step is pasted but if you edit a step, then the previously pasted step return to its previous state
These are great news!
Not yet. It's been suggested earlier in the thread, and may be under consideration. 👍🏼
Excellent.
A huge update is coming. First of all,
Hope you'll like the new update, here's a quick gif in action:
Awesome! 😎👍🏼
Looks great.
This update is more than welcome but i still believe that the value slider should be next or below the boxes on the main screen to do the value changes on the fly without the need to dive in the menu every time you need to edit a midi cc step value.if there are many steps it could be painfull.nice job on the program changes
I’m really pleased that someone finally wrote this app. A pattern orchestrator mode is something I always wished had been a part of Atom 2 so hopefully this will fill that gap.
The latest version does not quite fit in with how I trigger Atom 2 as I tend to use “Hold” mode and trigger using a combination of notes (same note to trigger ‘play’ and change pattern) and velocity (to select the specific pattern). I think though that once program change is added then this should give me more options in controlling Atom 2 playback and pattern selection.
@cem_olcay Thanks for adding Program Change support, but seeing an issue where all sorts of random midi messages are being sent when program change is enabled. I set up a pattern of just PC messages going out on channel 1 (no actions or any other cc messages), but there are other messages being generated by PatternBud like midi cc on other channels, poly pressure messages, etc. This can be seen using MIDISpy AU. Can you please take a look?
@cem_olcay thanks for adding PC. I thought it would let me do what I wanted with Atom 2 but I cannot reliably trigger Atom 2 patterns at the same time as controlling playback without being able to send note/velocity combinations. Would it be possible to please add emitting a configurable note/velocity combination as another data type for each step (and I guess also as an action)?
It would be great if there was also a gate setting for this as well since Atom ‘Hold’ mode requires the note to be held down for the duration of the step. For example, a 1 bar length step should hold, e.g. C2 at velocity 1 for the whole bar (or whatever % gate setting) before sending a note-off and moving to the next step. I suppose some scenarios may not want the note-off so that might need to be optional.
I can do what I want with PolyBud as that lets you emit note/velocity per step but the interface for PatternBud is obviously a better fit for this job.
+1000
Yes, I saw this as well, I think somehow the host app respond to the program change event and create the those messages. PatternBud is only generating one PC message and nothing else.
Sure, I can add a note trigger action.
Thank you!
Submitted the new update, it probably will be live tomorrow.
@cem_olcay Unfortunately, the issue with the miscellaneous midi cc data being generated looks like a bug in PatternBud, when PC messages are sent. Please see screenshot below. Only PatternBud is set to send data to MIDISpy. No other midi sources are being used.
