Loopy Pro and BeatMaker 3 issues

I bought Loopy Pro last night and thanks to the new update that allows for the use of In-App audio I’m able to bring in the launchpad app. Once synced to ableton link this Looper has done it’s primary job flawlessly. However I have one HUGE problem. I really got Loopy Pro to help me make loops from BeatMaker 3. BeatMaker 3’s own internal looping/ sequencing is very tedious and not intuitive AT ALL. To get to my point, Loopy will not bring in BeatMaker 3 through it’s In-App Audio feature. I don’t know why. Is this a known issue? If so, what’s being done to resolve this?

  • Does BM3 show up as Inter-App Audio (IAA) in other host, like AUM or Audiobus? If it does, you might just need to start BM3 before opening Loopy Pro.

It works for me. Try the following:

    • reboot
    • launch beatmaker
    • turn on background audio
    • launch loopy pro
    • add beatmaker as iaa
    • in synchronization, make beatmaker a target for midi clock
    • in beatmaker, turn on sync from loopy pro

Btw, when you have a problem, it is useful if you describe what you are doing step by step and what happens with screenshots or a screen recording to show the steps/setup.

Ohh man! Thank you so much, I’d been racking my brain trying to get it to work.

First tried launching inside loopy -no luck, then tried hosting in AUM, worked but didn’t sync, tried Audiobus 3, still didn’t sync audio, this was despite all metronomes syncing with each other, the audio just refused to do the same.

The last thing I tried was AB3 hosting BM3 then routing through AUM to see if they would launch better - big fat no.
I come here and read this after being a longtime lurker and had to sign up just I could say thank you for the solution, it finally synced the audio. I was racking my brain with all the silly combos of what would get it to work. Looks like Loopy likes being in charge of the clock 🤣

All this trouble shooting so I can make music at some point 👀

If BM3 becomes unstable I plan on going down the rabbit hole of using AudioLayer and seGments instead
