Roland TR 06 and iOS 15?
Does anybody have the Roland Boutique TR-06 and has tried using it as an audio/midi interface with iOS 15?
Roland''s support page for the device doesn't mention iOS compatibility and haven't found indications that they might work or not work together elsewhere.
I am considering the purchase. Wouldn't be a deciding factor but it's good to know I could record straight from the drum machine into the iPad.

Roland hardware is unfortunately NOT class compliant as far as I know. Someone confirm or correct me on this?

More than any of this, the main issue with the Roland Boutiques is the noise from the USB output when used together with the audio out jack. I have this issue with the TR-06.
That’s generally been true of their hardware (I can’t imagine why they think this is a good idea), but it’s not an insurmountable problem - it just necessitates a MIDI interface to get it to work with a USB hub.
True. I had a FA06 workstation before and ran the sound from it through an audio interface into my iPad and MIDI worked fine as well. It would have been nice though to have been able to run everything through USB directly into the iPad like the MODx…

I can’t do it directly with my SE-02, but using the MIDI DIN ports connected to my MIDI hub I can connect to my iPad or MacBook via USB.
micheal_m: Good to know. I’m about to purchase the Fantom 6.. Not class compliant either like the Yamaha MODX
You might want to consider the TR-6s instead. It's class compliant, has the 606 model, but also 808, 909, 707 as well as sample playback and an FM drum synth.
I would think it would work for most hardware that’s not class compliant, as long as the MIDI hub is and your hardware has MIDI DIN in and out.
It will👍. It is just a hassle dealing with both MIDI and audio cables when the solution is a software upgrade. An upside for me was that an issue with noise using both USB, ground cable and audio disappeared when I connected my FA06 with MIDI DIN and audio cables through my audio interface instead of USB.

It is absolutely not class compliant.
I think your information maybe out of date:
From https://www.perfectcircuit.com/roland-tr-6s.html
USB class compliant audio / MIDI interface
Perfect Circuit is wrong.
Can the TR-06 be synced to AUM, or LP, via usb? It doesn't seem to show up in 'connect to midi', even when setting the 06 to 'sync' and 'usb' - but maybe I'm missing something...
Thanks!
Several posts in this thread suggest the TR-06 is not class-compliant. iOS devices can only connect to class-compliant devices. The built-in USB drivers only recognize such devices.
I believe the AIRA Compact range — that huge range of three — is class compliant though
Nope, Perfect Circuit is right .. TR 6S, same as MC101, is class compliant. TR06 is different device and it is not class compliant.
ok, cool, thanks very much for explaining. I didn't really understand this properly before.
