JWM - Ambient 090622 (Short 5-minute piece)

I couldn't think of a title, honestly. 😂 Sometimes a piece is inspired by a title, and sometimes it just flows out naturally like this one below...

When the latter happens, it takes me a few minutes to come up with a title that fits, but this time, I'm stumped as fuck. 🤣

Right, this one has a drone in it, but not the kind of drone you're used to hearing from me (i.e. not a PaulXStretched audio sample drone lol).

Oh by the way, forgot to mention, this doesn't need to be actively listened to. You can pop it on in the background while working on something else like bills, taxes, texting, whatevs.

Is the influence that obvious? 🤣 LOL! I wanted to veer away from Brian Eno and David Lynch territory and go more for the TD aesthetic, hence why I used Mellotron sounds from Module instead of the KAPro orchestral sounds, lol. Thanks mate, cheers.

Yeah the bass makes this! Don't feel you have to make a classic ambient track. Do your own thing! Labels don't matter.

Squidly! Cool bass. Having structure really helps the piece. Made me think of William Orbit’s Pieces In A Modern Style. Great work! And some tastefully applied wub

Thanks mate. Yep, I kinda wanted a bass that had a lot of motion to it and a bit like classic dubstep, minus the beat of course!

Exactly mate! I didn't feel like I had to make a classic Ambient track. I just wanted to honour Tangerine Dream this time while still doing my own thing and having fun with it.
