I did something new with the piano this time. I duplicated the Ravenscroft track and lowered it an octave. I mixed the deeper track in and out with the original. It gave greater depth to the Raven… I think.

Beautiful piece, Mike ! You sent me to Andalusia for a while.
I also think the Ravenscroft sounds fuller with the manipulation you did. To fatten a piano track you can also layer another piano (or even go nuts with electric piano) without necessarily lower by an octave but by choosing one with rich and fat low end a apply a low pass filter on it to keep only the bottom end. If you hear some unpleasant phasing effect, applying a very short delay (a few ms) can solve it.
I understand that you don't like upright piano but I tend to like their low end more than grand. You could experiment with Pure Upright for a change
    Nice to see you experimenting!

  • Gorgeous piano playing!
I love the solemnity of this piece to start, and the layering effect is so subtle and beautiful.
Your ingenuity is in display, and I am so happy to hear 'em.

  • Thank you for listening @Stuntman_mike and @ReneAsologuitar. Always appreciated!
Yes, @JanKun, I’ve tried those layerings combining Ravenscroft, PurePiano and Korg Model D. You're right, combining a piano with an EP can produce a great result. Ikve had success with that.
