Time to go
I finally got myself a Soundcloud account and would like to share a piece here.
"Time to go" started life as an ambient drone in AUM before transitioning to Cubasis where it became something else.
I found playing slowly and expressively to be really challenging for its unhurried 5 minute duration, and I freely admit to not knowing its tempo or time signature, which is both liberating and scary!

I couldn’t stop thinking about scenes of the movie “fantastical planet”. Very good piece!
Great textures, very cinematic - I like the challenge you gave yourself not being locked to time rigidly
Congrats on the step forward. I liked it! Keep posting.
Hi belidu,
I love the fluidity of your creation, and really like the sounds on 1:19.
Very soothing, and yet presents some unknown.
Congratulations on your new venture with Soundcloud.
Rene
Thanks for the feedback. While I'm wondering if I overdid the fluidity on this one, I felt a bit like stepping into the unknown and into the space created by not having a 4 bar loop at a set tempo!
I'll check out that movie score. I haven't come across Fantastic Planet before, and I definitely wasn't consciously channelling a 1973 French Experimental Adult Animated Sci Fi vibe, but it sounds cool...
Very very nice
I like it! The world needs more scifolk ambient glitchcore!
Very nice, enjoyed the ‘flutey’ lead and the unhurried pace.
Hypnotic, I like very much. Well done @belldu 👍🏻
very well done.liked the minimal use of elements leaving a wide open soundstage and a clean, calm about it. more please.
Thanks again... while I may not quite hit the scifolk ambient glitchcore vibe exactly the same way again, I have a few other ambient based pieces in development.
For those wondering about the sounds, as noted above it started as a drone in AUM with Monolith and Pipa under a gong sample slowed down by Enso. The noise ambience is a combination of synth and sample with elemental effects (wind, rain) coming from samples I loaded into Audiolayer.
I then recorded the two chords used for much of the piece into AUM using Atom2, and the glitchy organ is Galileo2 with a Taluonx bass below it.
The flutey thing is a Clarinet from the awesome OB-XD synth.
Realising I wanted to develop and modulate a bit, I moved it all to Cubasis, added strings from Audiolayer from the stock orchestral samples, and the brass is from the oscillator (not sampler) in FRMS.
There are a number of reverbs, delays and other effects involved.
All of this goes to show that you can't have too many AuV3s :-) even for something like this.
