Nembrini comparision
Does anyone have both the Nembrini cali and the 8180? What’s the difference n sound? I went to the nembrini website but the playing is just not very good so I’m trying to decide between the 2. Is the cali offer less gain or do they both have plenty of gain?? I only have enough cash to get one of them. Thanks and I apologize i I have asked this question previously but my brain damage will hinder my memory if I have asked this before. So please do not criticize me if this has been asked before

Don’t let my opinion dissuade you, but I didn’t really like the Cali Dual. It has plenty of gain, I just found the amp sim kind of boxy sounding and not particularly massive. This is in part because it has more features and settings than your average Nembrini so it needs to be tweaked and adjusted. I was underwhelmed. I much prefer the Cali Reverb, which also has plenty of gain.
I really like the 8180, it’s a massive sounding amp sim with plenty of gain. It even has a good clean sound. The only thing to consider though is the 8180 has a massive amount of bass. If you like metal amps with lots of bottom end, this is the one. I find the bass really warm and puffy, not muddy. The 8180 definitely nails the high gain 80s sound all the way into 1991. From that point on the Mesa Boogies took over.
The BST100 is also really good, based on Soldano. It’s a favorite for some people.
It all kind of depends on which kind of high gain or metal sound you’re after.
