GCL1 by Guido Scognamiglio - Released
https://apps.apple.com/app/id6443425222
Description:
Please note: this is an AUv3 plugin that can be used with compatible host Apps.
GSi GCL1 features three dynamic processors in one unit:
- Gate: typically used to interrupt background noise when there's no musical content in a noisy track
- Compressor: a device that automatically adjusts the dynamic response of a sound source to make it constant and stable
- Limiter: a device that limits the highest peak levels to prevent unwanted distortion or clipping
The initial of these three devices make the name G, C and L... and the number 1 is because you never know...
Using this plugin is very simple, every control is rendered like on a real unit, with absolute values on knobs and precise vu-meters.

What the hell? Where’s the space echo? I won’t repeat my recent compressor ports screed
🤣 my feeling too
Dev has a bit to learn about marketing. I'm on the space echo beta and - boom - this comes out of nowhere 😂
It's definitely intentional. Build and ride the buzz. This drives more momentum and anticipation for space echo.
Ebbs and flows, peaks and valleys - gotcha
This was outta nowhere 😭😂😭. I like this dev but marketing ain't his strength. WHERE'S THE SPACE ECHO 🤦🏾♂️
I dunno... Strange way to do things. I don't think anyone was on beta til I suggested he use influencers for beta testing. I also suggested a bit of a slower release schedule - knowing the iOS market, people love novelty but their budget is limited. A new app every month, or even every 2 weeks would make a lot more sense to me.
“Marketing ain’t his strength….”
Where’s the Space Echo? Where’s the Space Echo? Where’s the Space Echo?
Where’s the Space Echo? Where’s the Space Echo? Where’s the Space Echo?
Where’s the Space Echo? Where’s the Space Echo? Where’s the Space Echo?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
We all keep refreshing the board hoping for @White to post the “GSi Space Echo Released!” announcement 🤪
I genuinely prefer B2!
I use the ECHO B2 a TON!! That and Genuine Sounds V1 are my favorite plugins of his
I really wish they’d do universal apps like with VB3m. This one especially already looks small enough on the UI to be fine for a phone screen
Still a little bit shocked and stunned at the lack of marketing behind this. Its very common in the dev space though. Such a pity, however, people need demos, especially on iOS 😂
I don't have 8GB to spare for Genuine Sounds, sadly. I'm constantly deleting things from my ipad just to keep up lol
The most egregious error to me was tweeting a pic of just the Space Echo and neither of the others that said “coming to iOS later this week”. Makes it seem like an unseemly plan to boost sales of the other two while people are waiting. It’s not a big deal, no worse than a harmless prank; you’ve gotta survive and I’d rate this a barely perceptible tick just below 0 on the morality scale, but not the way I’d do things personally.
Ouch, valid point
That might be my fault. I told him that iOS users have a fetish for new apps, and maybe a slower release schedule would work out better for them. Truth, no?
I know...the same here. Hate switching out plugins
I highly recommend springing for at least the terabyte Pad if possible. Almost 2 years in, 166 gbs used, 820ish free, have nearly all the excessive stuff I’ve ever bought except for finished games and absolute crap on there. I just dump my song files into a GDrive folder every now and then, when theres a lull, to keep things tidy. As a neat freak and anti-clutter guru, It’s really a mind-easer to have the space.
I have double that and after the few years of use it's not enough. I don't even have many sample files. It's mostly video taking up that space. Screen recordings are brutally huge.
Nah ive gotten all the way down to 200-ish a couple times before dumping project files. Projects can get quite bloated with me cause i always end up with tons of audio takes. And generally make looong tracks.
True.... But I've also had external hard drives break, several times. And ones from highly esteemed companies.
Ot of pure curiosity, how does this GCL1 compare to this?

(Which is also universal and not iPad Only)
They are. I've already deleted most stuff. I guess the sample-heavy stuff will have to go
Worth it to me. 256 is definitely not enough. The latest $200 price hikes for double the space ARE a straight ripoff though. $100 was a little more reasonable.
