Need some help with FabFilter Pro-Q3
Is there a way to save band-linking to a preset in Pro-Q3? I'd like to save this motion as part of the preset
Comments
Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think that is possible within the EQ itself. That would be the job of automation within your DAW.
So you want to automate that change in the curve? I think that’s possible…
Yes, within the app as a preset. That functions like in the vid...please show me the way
Well, the points on the curve would have to be mapped to something, either MIDI input or the automatic movements of an oscillator or the like… someone correct me if I’m wrong here.
If it needs to be within the actual preset, you may look at trying this in Volcano 3 instead.
Set the filter types to clean and use the modulation section the modulate the bands simultaneously somehow. I am not sure how exactly to set that up to achieve exactly what your after, but it should be possible?
I checked and one can use MIDI learn to control the position of those points, so it could be automated that way. But I’m not seeing a way to create a connection to an oscillator within the app itself. You could be right about doing it in Volcano instead. At least that one has more options for real in-app automation.
I think Dan Worrall (check his channel on YouTube) could probably figure this one out in about 5 minutes.
Do you want constant movement at a set rate (lfo) or a one time rise and fall (envelope)?
Either way, just link the same xLFO to all the bands or the same envelope to all the bands and they should move in proportion? I’m too lazy to check, but if they are in fact linked, then I’m guessing the Fab is smart enough to move all proportionately if you just link to the big green one.
Otherwise, yeah, don’t be lazy and use a DAW modulation as needed on the track.
