Mother - Tribute track to my Mum
So my Mum passed away last week. She's had a very tough time during Covid with the isolation and this contributed to her dementia leading to spending the last year of her life in a care home.
I use music creation to take my mind off things that are bad in the world (and there are more than enough at the moment!) and I decided to create a track which initally was based around verse/chorus, but added some twists and different motifs - to emotionally show the good/bad times she had in her life - surviving WW2 in London, her marriage and then death of husband, the living alone, covid and finally the emptiness of being in a demential care home
I'm sure I'll return to happier notes later.
In the meantime, created in GB IOS, with some scaler2 for picking out the 3 different chord structures, a bit of felted piano, some Isymphonic violin, some "aching" Poison guitar, and the rest mainly from Alchemy in GB.

I’m very sorry for your loss and the loneliness your mother had to endure. The piece is lovely.
Hi matdun25848834,
Very sorry for your loss.
She is definitely in a better place.
Your music is a great tribute to your mother, very solemn and peaceful.
I love the violin, which reminded me of the violin music played when I visited Medjugorje in Bosnia-Herzigovina.
Music truly heals, and sketches of emotions are created.
Well done.
Rene
thank you both for your kind words.
I’m glad you managed to create such a lovely track at such a difficult time. I went through the same stages with my mother I.e. Dementia, COVID lockdown, no visiting when she passed away so you have my sympathies.
Sorry for your loss.
Sorry for your loss man. This piece is beautiful!!
Even without the backstory I would have thought that this was a lovely piece of work.
Knowing the circumstances gives it an added poignancy for me.
I love the delicate balance you maintain between the spritely arpeggios and the mildly mournful violin.
Beautiful.
I bet your Mum would have been proud.
thank you all for your comments, it means a lot. thanks
