Chord sequencer search

Hello

Are there any sequencers out there that can do nice chord sequences? Or, if not available, are there chord generator apps, cause then I could run my SnakeBud into those.

  • Have you looked at Scaler 2? That's probably the best option IMO.

  • Suggester might work if you need something for iPhone, as Scaler, while brilliant, is iPad only…

  • Oh sorry, I need it for iPad only. Not gonna use it on my phone. What IAP in scaler do I need then? Is it a chord sequencer or a Chord generator?

It does both, only one IAP

  • Chordjam? https://audiomodern.com/shop/plugins/chordjam/ I’m interested in this as well.

    Randomizer function is very cool

  • My favorites are Navichord and Tune Maker.

Some time ago I started listing apps with chords and transposition, but didn't have the time to finish listing.
But here's the work in progress:

  • Scaler 2 and chord jam are both great. I’ve found myself using progressions even more lately. All three are useful in different ways.

  • @christsinfamie Progressions by 4Pockets is also really good

  • Mozaic has a patchstorage section with quite a few wonderful chord related utilities:
    https://patchstorage.com/platform/mozaic/

Imaginando LK can launch chords or sequenced riffs controlled by incoming MIDI notes.
It also has a built-in melody and chord generator that respects the current user scale.
Seems to be an underestimated app still!

  • I think scaler2 and chordjam are really great at this.

  • Not a conventional chord app per se, but Songen, the AI assisted music generator, allows you to tweak and lock the generated chords and then you can just keep generating new rhythms for said chords. Or you can write your own progression and let the AI spice it up. It’s free to try but is a subscription but I think it’s worth tinkering with at least for a month to get to know it. Very useful tool and I don’t feel at all like what comes out isn’t my own, since everything is pretty customizable

  • Chordjam
    Mozaic like 4 separate scripts
    Scaler 2
StepPolyArp has a sequencer mode and chord mode
    Drambo I think
    Cykle has a chord mode

Can Progressions do this I haven’t had it too long so haven’t tried that yet.

  • ChordPolyPad is awesome too

That totally depends on what you're looking for. Browse through the archives and get inspired :)

  • Not a chord generator and it’s oldish but STILL viable and good and working

    QUANTUM by Anthony Saunders

Another is Thesys by Sugarbytes - which can also sequence chords
