Preferred the second half to the first half 😊 Nice ending 😵💫
I thought I was hearing LinearLineman on piano.
The title of the song is a description of the last third of this composition, "you have 3 minutes to live"!!!
I love this production.

I missed this one. It does sound like me at first. I’m replaced by a random generator! Good orchestration, too. Liked where the percussion comes in.
I guessing “Piano Motifs” was involved based on the rhythms and melodies. But I am curious about what apps were used
Since this represents a departure of sorts from a lot of prior work stylistically.
Thank you very much, Rene! Do you ever take requests? Last night I was listening to a great old song from 'West Side Story' called 'Somewhere'. It has been widely covered by female vocalists. As I listened to it, I thought it could done just as well by a male voice and solo acoustic guitar. The words and music are, in my opinion, exceptionally beautiful. If you have already done this one, please reply with a link to it. If you haven't, I think you would be superb. Have a nice day!
@LinearLineman You will never be replaced by an app... ever! I was having a discussion with a friend about the current direction of the country. We both saw similarities between our situation and the Reign of Terror. Things are getting out of hand fast. I tried to imagine that I was standing at the foot of the stairs and had three minutes left. I know it's a morbid thought, but a very real one for about 17,000 people at the time. I pray that cooler heads prevail (pun intended).
@McD Piano Motifs played a part. I have been trying to use it differently. When I export a motif, I get 2 parts that I interpret as left hand and right hand. Sometimes I will only use one of the parts and create a different motif for the other. It doesn't always work, but when it does, it's rather nice. I like to cut the pieces up and keep the bits I like. Nearly every time, I end up editing the MIDI content in Cubasis. I also like to use other instruments besides piano. I know I used iSymphonic for a few of the parts, but can't really remember much about the process. Mike has experienced the same thing. I spend hours or days on something, then I can't remember anything about it. It's a bit embarassing!
I am really looking forward to diving into StaffPad. That will be my winter project. I think last night was my last good night to sit outside and play with my iPad. It was about 60 degrees and drizzling, but dry where I sat. My wife said... you're nuts!
Import some of that MIDI into Staffpad temp scores and using the Copy icon get them in the clipboard and Paste the parts into a final score. Then assign instruments… similar to Cubasis but the rendering will be StappPad’s sound engine and not AUv3 apps. It’s a process you can start with ever using the pencil and a lot like your typical MIDI montages.
You can also import audio with out the pencil but it’s useful to chop audio segments on bar lines.
It’s a kind of DAW with a new interface you can learn and ask questions about. We need you to open the door for more explorers.
This seems to me to be the most “classical” piece of music I’ve heard from you. It has that “Paulieworld” flow, but with a completely new type of feel. I’m liking it! Good stuff Paul.
I was hoping I would be able to use some existing MIDI content to get started. StaffPad is very deep and it will take a while to get into a groove. I was the same way with Cubasis. When I started this stuff, I was using Gadget almost exclusively. One day I just decided to do it. I'll probably post another track or two before I disappear for a while. I hope to have something worthwhile when I get back.
Hey Mac! Thank you for noticing that. I have been trying to come up with some new ways of doing this. I bought into StaffPad a while ago and I'm looking forward to working/playing with that. It will probably take some time, unless I'm just lucky. Thanks for listening and have a good one!
Nice arrangement. I like the way the second half creates a feeling of resignation, almost a sense of peace, before the inevitable occurs.
I don't mean to bump this, but thank you for that comment. That is exactly what I was trying to convey.
