I'm as well not comfortable with subscriptions (although it's understandable when it gives you access to at least one new sample packs each week)
Did you know that you can buy the features and sample packs individually?
@LoiusH if you want to go the right route you need to make Remix live a AU host and or make it AU instrument. That will give people the most flexible choices in how to use the app.
Hi Jumpercollins,
Yes, it seems that giving the opportunity to everyone to be using Remixlive as an AU instrument in their workflow, benefiting the great features and strong Sample Library would be a great move to do.
As well as maybe proposing a "one time buy all" option (sample collection appart)
I think this is a very good and constructive response from you, I applaud your approach. 👏
As for your idea of offering a chance to buy all functionality at once instead of (or as an alternative to) the subscription, I think it is a good one. I'm not in your core target group, but I did buy such an extension to Launchpad, whereas I would never subscribe to the app. Or, if that's not an option, the Loopy Pro business model is also well liked around here.
Good luck with your app!
Thanks for your feedback Ervin,
If i read between the lines you are, or were, a Launchpad user?
Does it have a video of these new features? Thanks..
Sure, a tutorial / walkthrough is on its way, it should be released in sync with the 7.2 release on the App Store, next Monday at the latest![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I'll just chime in with a few 'brain-farts', no need to take them as 'facts'.
Being able to 'host' AUv3s is imho one essential feature which should require no third-party solutions.
Preferably the app would have an optional 'plug-in chain'(1-4 plug-ins) that could be used to process the input prior to recording it.
These effect-chains being based on AUv3 plug-ins could also interact with the other tracks in the host for side-chain and additional routing options.
Think of this like a 100% bus based approach, each 'bus/chain/node' has an input which could be hardware port, an app or an internal track, send etc. Each track could also optionally use the output of any bus as the input for recording/re-sampling.
I aware that this can add latency depending on what kind of routing is done (back and forward in a chains etc.).
I do get the wish that many have to integrate a 'looper app' into another host such as AUM but since an AUv3 plug-in can not host other AUv3 plug-ins (at least for now) it would be limited to only using internal effects.
The irony here is that people want 'everything' at once so to big burden lands on the host providing 'everything' since the interaction between apps is let me put it mildly a bit 'challenging' filled with compromises.
The 'Lego Approach' to accomplish this with for example AUM with 3rd party plug-ins for looping, audio-tracks etc. makes it a total mess in the long run, some like it I but I don't. All this because we don't have a proper DAW available yet...
(I'm 90% back to Logic on my Mac as I got fed up waiting for 'proper' DAWs to pop up for the iPad which is still amazing as a 'sketch pad' and 'sound module').
This is where RemixLive could provide a solution In similar fashion/direction as Roland does with ZenBeats.
Cheers!
Hi Samu,
Very interesting point.
We've started long ago to implement DAW features in Remixlive (Step Sequencer - Song view for arrangements - Multi channel FX & Mixer etc...) but we're aware that they still need a very strong polishing and attention to match the standards of a Desktop DAW.
Speaking with iOS music makers, most of them are searching for a more creative approach with mobile and tablet Apps than they could get on desktop.
We're trying hard to develop and refactor features that would make the bridge between a powerful and complete end-to-end DAW and a very intuitive and playful Live music performance and creation tool.
I have the feeling that what we've planned for the next sub-versions of Remixlive 7 till end of 2022 is going in this direction, we're determined to on-board iOS musicians into this journey to build the perfect music App together.
PS: If ever you feel like having a test drive of Remixlive, please consider getting the 7.2 version next week.
Cool..
Yes I am, but only a very occasional one. The point I was trying to make is that despite not being a very involved user at all, a "buy all the extra functions forever at one price" was still a good enough proposition for me to consider it. But their subscription offer never tempted me at all.
@tja ,
Depending on what you're looking for exactly in a music App, i guess you should have another round with Remixlive in it's out next week 7.2 version and beyond, you might like it a lot![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
@LouisH : I can see that it’s not like Loopy
pro at all. I also sense your commitment to making this a groundbreaking app. . I say forge ahead without compromise and build the best app that you know how . “If you build it , they will come “ like they said so famously in that movie . @LouisH said:
I’ve been using it for years and yet to find a replacement. It’s the SDK that makes it unique, including proper IAA support.
With Loopy Pro out I sincerely doubt it as a lot (if not all) of @Michael’s time goes on that now. It’s pretty much becoming Audiobus replacement for many.
Interesting,
So Loopy Pro is from the same creator than Audiobus?
Yes
Hey @LouisH ,
Something I've learned from being part of the Audiobus 3 forum is this...do what you believe in.
There's always going to be fans, critics, and people who are generally disinterested.
For those who are generally disinterested, that's fine. Remember, we can't please everyone. Each person has their unique likes, dislikes, and needs. So it is impossible to be the answer to everyone.
Now for the fans, honestly, those are the ones who believe in your vision. I'm definitely a fan of Remix Live, and I believe in the product. Now, as fans, we may have our own views and it may change based on the decisions of the companies, but we are usually there to follow the dream of what we like.
Now, for the critics, which is what you'll usually find here, that's great. They give a reality check based on the needs of the public. But even that is a bit biased. One person's views of an app will be completely different from another. I've had chats with Marek from @elfaudio about the future of Koala, but ultimately he makes the decision on what he feels is the best decision.
Sometimes you can't easily implement a feature in an app because of lack of resources, or the tools aren't available yet. That's perfectly okay. Focus on the strength of your team, be aware of the weaknesses, but grow together and solve problems, instead of only trying to patch every single request that a user makes.
P.S: I'm an Industrial Engineer who manages software projects, and produces music in my off time.
Hey,
Thanks for your message.
Indeed, we are very pleased for any type of feedbacks!
Ps: i'm the PM @mixvibes, that's totally part of my job![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Pending update today?
Seem this is what a second iPad is for... Next month's update (with Global Key transpose) will cherry-top this.
Did the PC version just go away?
Hi Rajah!
Remixlive will very soon be available on PC with Windows 11.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Before end of Q4 2022
Great.. I’m in.. was messing with in earlier.. pretty nice.. to have it on desktop too will be cool.
Hey ehehe,
Have you tried it for real?
Like opening a blank project and mess around with the App?
So this app is US$9 per month?
Hi Simon,
The main features are free, it also comes with a selection of 5 Samples packs.
You have the possibility to buy the advanced features and Samples packs at your will, individually or subscribe monthly or yearly (around 50$/year) to unlock everything, all features including AI stem separation and all 26,000+ Samples Library, with at least one new Sample Pack each week (that's 50+ Packs / Year)
OK, thanks for the info.
You might want to explain the pricing on the App Store listing page. I would never have worked out the pricing from what is written on the App Store listing. The way it is written might be putting people off downloading the app.
Cheers!
Absolutely, totally agree!
We'll be updating the Stores description along with the new release.
Thanks for your feedback!
That being said, the subscription is quite a nice deal, i mean around 50$ for 26K+ Pro-grade samples plus 50+ 48xLoops Packs for the next 12 months seems very affordable, even if i must admit that i'm not found of this model myself.
Do you need a hug?
