Yes, sorry, we haven't posted new builds yet. We're going to batch in a bunch of bug fixes based on a lot of feedback we've received. We're dedicating next week to iOS. We were going to do it this week, but we had two urgent bug reports pop up for lo-fi-af and Needlepoint and needed to fire off new builds for that.
Thank you @trickyflemming for dedicating time for these IOS projects and providing the changes for proper implementation. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Ah, sorry for jumping gun then. Look fwd to using it 👍🏻
I wrote feedback here about the flickering and the presets/banks browser display not turning off in the usual way. But there are other apps where flickering does occur. They may be caused by SDK or Framework. In that case, the problem may not be solved until SDK or Framework itself is fixed or improved. In that case, I have no problem at all even if the flickering of those apps is not fixed. This means when I use a preset browser, I will use it in a way multi-touch doesn’t occur. (Of course, it would be better if the flickering did not occur, but if the problem cannot be solved immediately, I have no choice but to accept it.)
Bug: In garageband on ipad the plugin doesn't load and crashes the daw.
@trickyflemming & @amusesmile That's a nice plugin indeed!
It seems like the Soften knob removes some of the bass enhancement effect while it low-passes the effect signal at the same time - this might be intentional though?
We've spent the last two days working only on trying to figure out the Garageband crash! We've fixed pretty much everything else reported. If the GB crash isn't fixed tomorrow, I'll push new builds with the other fixes in place along with a warning about the GB crash.
Wildly enough, lo-fi-af and Needlepoint work just fine in Garageband.
So more are on the way besides Bass-Mint? 😳
Ah-hah! Right after I posted that, we fixed it. Okay, posting new builds tomorrow.
Yes, after Bass Mint is released and stable, we have Silo, Tails, lo-fi-af, and Needlepoint ready to go.
Yes! Can't wait for the others! Esp Tails and lo-fi-af.
Well, I uploaded the new builds to Apple this morning, but they're still marked as "Waiting for Approval". I'll make an announcement here as soon as they're approved for beta testing.
Yes, YES ..thank you so much
Bug(?)
If the name of a user preset is "Default", it cannot be deleated. (This applies to both guest and standalone Bass-Mint app.)
UI issues(?)
-When a user tries to delete a factory preset, Bass-Mint behaves differently depending on whether Bass-Mint is in guest or standalone mode. Only in standalone mode, a user is presented with the choice between "OK" and "Cancel". (Selecting OK does not delete it. "Default" preset is automatically loaded.)
(EDITED)
This is a supplemental explanation to the above.
When Bass-Mint is a guest app, "after" saving any preset, a user is asked OK or Cancel when trying to erase a factory preset.
In other words, in this state, Bass-Mint behaves the "same" whether it is a guest or stand-alone. Therefore, this report itself may be meaningless. I’m sorry.
-The user manual link in the app is 404. (Maybe because it is a beta version.)
Other
The function of Unlock All Controls is not clear to me. I read Bass-Mint manual at Plugin Alliance but it doesn't mention it. (There is no illustration of OUT GAIN knob in the manual, so it may not be the latest version.)
1.1.3 is now up on Testflight!
Thanks! The bug reports are noted for next week.
I posted a note in the 1.1.3 log: Currently the iOS builds are missing a way to use our "Lock" feature. On the desktop plugins, you can right-click a knob to Lock it, preventing the knob from changing when randomizing or scrolling presets (Most reverb plugins have a way to lock the Mix knob so that you can keep it as an insert or send without having to continuously change it).
Anyway, we're working on figuring out the best way to implement the locks on iOS, which will be in next week's builds. The "Unlock All Controls" feature just turns off the locks on anything that had been locked. It's not really critical for Bass Mint, but on more knob-laden plugins like Silo it's very useful.
And yes, the Out Gain knob was a post-1.0 addition, and the manual hadn't been updated accordingly.
Bug(?): Bass-Mint's BYPASS feature does not work.
Steps to reproduce
Load Bass-Mint into "Inserts & Effects" of any node in AUM. (In this test, I loaded a synth app or .wav file into the "Sauces" of the node.)
(EDITED)
Change Bass-Mint parameter to change the sound of the Sauces. Any change is fine as long as the difference in sound is easy to recognize.
(/EDITED)
Turn on "BYPASS" switch within Bass-Mint app.
Turn off the power symbol at the top center of Bass-Mint window frame, then turn it on. (This refers to the power symbol shown to the right of "Unfiltered Audio Bass Mint @A1:1".)
"BYPASS" switch within Bass-Mint is on, but actually it outputs the sound of Sauces with Bass-Mint effect "active".
Your explanation helped me to understand the functionality of Unlock All Controls. Thank you so much.
1.1.3 (2) is up on TestFlight. This adds in the Lock Mode! We're getting very close to release now. I have to investigate the preset and Bypass reports from @cramdog, so we'll have new builds after I get those fixed.
Getting close to releasing..NICE 😎 I CANT WAIT 👏🏾👏🏾
Many thanks.
As for the preset, there may be no need to investigate or fix. In that case, I apologize.
I have written two reports on the preset. They have additional post or edits. Both of them say something like, "I first wrote it as an issue, but then I reconsidered that it might not be an issue."
The following are them.
-I edited my October 14 post on October 18.
-After my October 7 post I got another idea. In another new post on October 8, I wrote about that.
(EDITED)
I just realized that you are referring to the user preset name "Default". I had forgotten about that.
Great work
1.1.3 (2) Issue(?)
The Lock icon TOOLTIPS appears as Next Preset.
d'oh! Fixed for the next version.
Hi there! love your plugins, as everyone here I'm happy to see them ported to iOS
I've tested it on my (very small) iPhone SE 1st gen (iOS 14.6) and it seems like it's not scaling up, only down, when using it inside AUM
I just wanted to add that I love this plugin. It just makes a huge difference to the bottom end control and shaping. Lovely stuff. Thank you for porting it over. I'm using an M1 pro and have been running it in Loopy Pro without any functional issues so far.
Cosmetically, one thing I've noticed is that the help tips disappear under my fingers and can be difficult to read at times. Would It be possible to have them appear a little further away from the point of touch?
New build is up! This fixes bypass and preset saving, I've hopefully fixed iPhone AUM resizing (again). This could be the last beta.
I'll see if we can adjust that after release. Tooltips are part of JUCE code, and sometimes that code is tough to modify without breaking a lot.
1.1.3 (3) Issue(?)
When copying and pasting Bass-Mint from node to node in AUM, the original preset is not pasted intact.
-The preset name of the destination Bass-Mint appears as "Default".
-The lock icons of the destination Bass-Mint disappear. (Both translucent and non-transparent lock icons disappear.)
Additional Explanations
-The aforementioned "copying and pasting" refers to the "SELECT" and "COPY HERE" features of a node in AUM.
-When using "DUPLICATE" feature of AUM's EDIT CHANNEL, the state of Bass-Mint will probably be the same as when using the SELECT and COPY HERE features.
1.1.3 (3) Issue(?)
-When a session containing Bass-Mint is saved and loaded in AUM, the Bass-Mint preset name is displayed as Default. When it is tapped, the original preset name is displayed.
-When a session containing Bass-Mint’s user preset with translucent lock icons is saved and loaded in AUM, the translucent lock icons disappear.
(EDITED)
The normal small lock icons also disappear.
(EDITED2)
However, when saving a session or copying and pasting from node to node in AUM, some apps copy part of the state and some do not.
Which is the correct behavior is not clear to me.
Therefore, it may be correct behavior that Bass-Mint's normal small lock icons are not saved in a session within AUM.
Examples of other apps' behavior when select-and-paste between nodes or when a session is saved and loaded in AUM
-EVENTIDE Rotary does not unlock the MIX.
-But, EVENTIDE Undulator unlocks the MIX.
-Toneboosters Reverb does not unlock the MIX.
-NEMBRINI DELAY3000 unlocks the MIX. (I think the toggle switch "FIX" is equivalent to the lock feature.)
Suggestions
-It might be easier for users to understand if the manual explains what the translucent lock icon is.
-It might be better to have a statement in the manual that translucent lock icons are not saved when saving a preset.
(BTW, I said translucent, but it may actually be gray.)
If in the future you think that issue is something JUCE should improve upon, I would appreciate it if you would report it to JUCE.
Some time ago, about another app’s flickering, I reported it to their support. Then the person who responded to my email made an entry in JUCE forum with my situation as an example of one iPad user. That was gratifying to me.
And if the following issue (which I posted on October 7) cannot be improved by JUCE's specifications, I would appreciate it if you could report it to JUCE as well.
One UI issue
When entering parameters with numbers from a virtual keyboard instead of knobs, the bottom of the font of value and the decimal point are slightly hidden and hard to read a little. It would be better to have more space around the font so that the font is displayed correctly.
1.1.3 (3) Issue(?)
Bass-Mint presets do not appear in PRESETS folder in the upper left corner of the window frame of Bass-Mint loaded into AUM.
(EDITED)
Presets are also not displayed when the host app is apeMatrix.
Of course, Bass-Mint's own presets list is displayed correctly.
The issue(?) here is that when apeMatrix hamburger icon—which corresponds to PRESETS folder icon in AUM—is tapped, the presets are not displayed.
1.1.3 (3) Bug(?): Delete Preset feature does not work.
Steps to Reproduce
Load Bass-Mint into AUM.
Load an existing user preset.
The preset cannot be deleted, and other user presets cannot be deleted either.
And OK/Cancel option does not appear.
In other words, Delete Preset feature does not work.
-After loading Bass-Mint into AUM, create a user preset with a new name and save it, then it can be deleated.
And other user presets can be deleted as well.
In other words, Delete Preset feature becomes available.
(EDITED1)
-However, if Bass-Mint is loaded into AUM and a new user preset name "Random" is saved, the Delete Preset feature is not enabled.
(/EDITED1)
(EDITED2)
Additional explanations to EDITED1
-After loading Bass-Mint into AUM, Bass-Mint's RANDOMIZE feature will change the preset name to "Random".
If this preset is saved with the name "Random" as it is, the Delete Preset feature is not enabled.
-After loading Bass-Mint into AUM, the preset name is "Default".
Type "Random" to save this preset name.
In this case, the Delete Preset feature will be enabled.
(/EDITED2)
(EDITED3)
-Load Bass-Mint into AUM and use the RANDOMIZE feature.
Delete the "m" in "Random" with a backspace, and then input "m".
In other words, make an acquired(?) preset name "Random" and save the preset.
In this case, the Delete Preset feature becomes available.
(/EDITED3)
(EDITED4)
-When Bass-Mint is a guest app, if AUM session is saved and loaded while Bass-Mint's Delete Preset feature is enabled, the Delete Preset feature will be disabled again.
-If Bass-Mint is stand-alone, the Delete Preset feature is available immediately after starting Bass-Mint and loading a user preset.
In this case, there is no need to create a new preset and save it with a new name in order to use the Delete Preset feature .
In other words, Bass-Mint has a difference in the behavior of the Delete Preset feature depending on whether it is in standalone or guest app.
(/EDITED4)
(EDITED5)
-If Bass-Mint is loaded into AUM and a factory preset is loaded and saved as a user preset with that name, the Delete Preset feature is not enabled.
The same result is obtained if the factory preset selected using the "Load Random Preset" feature is saved as a user preset.
However, if the EDITED3 method(?) described above is used, the Delete Preset feature will be activated.
(/EDITED5)
-If an existing user preset is overwritten and saved after Bass-Mint is loaded into AUM, it cannot be deleated, and other user presets cannot be deleted either.

Bass-Mint behavior that may or may not be an issue
The translucent lock icon does not disappear when Bass-Mint's Unlock All Controls feature is used.
I’m not sure if this is a correct behavior.
