Setting up th-u
So I got th-u a month ago but fort for the life of me I cannot get it setup correctly. I do play high gain stuff but that should not matter. I jumped the gun and bought a few xtra heads, cabs and pedals hoping that would help but still I cannot get a good tone out of it, then thought maybe it was because I had cheaper studio monitors so I bought some Krk tokits but still struggling….
I tried different heads, different cabs, different pedals but I just have no idea what m doing wrong so I just picked up a orange head and cab an threw a screamer in front but no luck but yet when I look at YouTube video where they compare real amps to the app they pretty much are identical so I just don’t know what the the world I’m doing wrong….I would of posted a screenshot but I have tried everything….man I just don’t know what I’m doing….I also have rhino while it gets close to what I’m looking for the sound I get out of it just seems a bit harsh….please help me and I will stop posting as much….lol….I just want to jam….instead of getting an amp I spent the money I was gonna use for an amp and spent it on app and app purchases along with studio monitors so can you guys please help me get close the a good, good tone please….after spending so much time trying to accomplish this and so much m9ney spent m just so frustrated at this point

Please, post an example of the what you are doing. If you don't know how to make and post a screen recording, let us know.
It is really hard to advise you if we can't see and hear about you are doing. There may be something basic -- or not -- but really you will make our help much more likely to bear fruit if you show us what you are doing.
I think I found a tone I dig…it happened once I decided to go back to drop D tuning
I think T-HU may be part if the problem. Their heavy tone sound very far and boxed in. Try the free version of Amplitube or GE labs. The free amps sound much better. The best on iOS are Nembrini guitar amps.
Use the settings I told you in your other thread. The settings on settings on the screamer are important.
Does your guitar have humbuckers (double) pickup? Make sure you use the one closest to the bridge.
Also make sure that the level of your guitar going into the amp is pretty high. 3/4 or more. Their is a level meter on the left side of the screen of T-HU.
In my opinion, TH-U is capable is sounds on a par with Nembrini amps (which I use a ton) and Rhino (which I also use). This is particularly true of the their rigs. Without seeing OP's settings and hearing his results, I think it is pretty nigh impossible to know what the issue is.
We are talking high gain amp here. Are you ? I know TH-U is very liked for low gain tones. I only have the free amp and as I said it sound far and boxed in compared to Nembrini.
People use it for high gain, too. You can’t judge the paid content by the free amp.
Ok I’m hearing all how great it is but after a month of messing with it I’m failing miserable….every time I start by adding a head, then I will try a cab. First the matching cab but not having much luck by doing it that way…is that the best way to start??? So since I’m sucking at this I bought the Jerry Cantrell rig but I can’t even get any sound out of it….first can you please explain how I can get a good high gain tone out of it and how I can get sound out of the Cantrell rig??
If you are getting no sound at all, something is set up wrong. And until we figure that out, I don’t think we can advise you.
Please make a screen recording from start to finish what you are doing.
The rigs come with presets, have you tried selecting them?
The picture you show just shows the settings for a rig -- but doesn't show the components loaded. If you are getting no audio, the problem is not with the settings you show in your picture. So, it doesn't really help.
The first thing to do is make sure you have audio. If you are running standalone, make sure the input isn't muted.
I recommend that before you try to fine-tune anything that you tour the presets that come with THU. Every rig comes with a set of presets.
In the main window, tap on the preset name to pop up a list of the presets in the current bank
You will see a preset browser that lists the current bank's presets. You can tap (as indicated in the picture) to see a list of the preset banks that are available.![](https://forum.audiob.us/uploads/editor/h2/yx26ic56ugx6.jpeg)
here is the display of banks. Turn on the 'lock' so that you only see banks relevant to the rigs and bundles that you own![](https://forum.audiob.us/uploads/editor/gk/zzt6q7ledy1f.jpeg)
I don’t think th-u sounds good but I will still help you. 😎
Look on the left side of your screen for the white little square. This shows the volume of your guitar going in to th-u. If you are not getting any the your guitar sound is not coming in.
Can you tell us how you are plugging your guitar in your iPad or iPhone? You have to select the guitar input. Click the 3 little bar on the top right to go in the settings. Then click global settings.

From there you should be able to select your guitar input method. In my case it is Scarlet 4i4 USB 1. Because my guitar is plugged in the first port.
Also make sure that the speaker is activated by clicking the speaker icon on the bottom right of the screen.
