Creating heavy rock riffs digitally?
Not a guitar player, but I got my iPad and a mind to make some heavy shit. What apps would you fine folks recommend for getting, let’s say a grunge guitar type of vibe? Obviously it won’t be perfect, but I’m guessing I can get in the ballpark with a particular sort of synth going through a particular sort of amp or distortion emulator type deal. Ideas? I’m going for sort of a nasty Soundgarden type sound

Has to be Riffler!

Thanks! Indeed this looks promising. How nuanced and detailed can you get with crafting the sound of the riff in the app? Cause I’m really wanting to dive in to that, I don’t just want a collection of preset tones
If you're asking about tone, there's quite a few presets. Not very adjustable apart from reverb but if you want a to really tweak your tone, send a dry signal to your favorite amp sim ( Nembrini, THU Overloud, Rhino are all good choices)
As far as adjusting the riff, Riffler generates excellent riffs and if you want to tweak individual notes the new version 2 has you covered. I'm constantly saving riffs because so many are really good.
Riffler, just got the AU treatment too.
And I believe the developer has said more editing are features coming to Riffler - it’s great already and I’m sure many here would highly recommend. Just get it!
