how to record audio from a synth directly into zenbeats? bus faker? audio rerouter
Hello!
In zenbeats, is there any way to record audio from one track in zenbeats directly to a new audio track? I am trying to do something extremely simple, record a live performance done from within an AUV3 directly to the zenbeats timeline, unfortunately the bus routing options are so limited that I do not see a clear way to record audio from track A to track B- is anyone aware of a way to do this OR some sort of auv3 that pretends to be a different audio input source to allow for routing audio in applications with limited routing capabilities?

The only way I can see it would work right now is to export your live performance as a MIDI track, and then import it on a second instrument track and then pick the same AUv3 and sound.

Is bounce to track not adequate for your use case?
Of course, totally forgot about that!

BTW you can just drag a MIDI region on to an audio track and it will render. This also works for loops on the clip launcher view
Well damnnnn. That is so cool!
Thanks for posting that. 👍🏼
It's too bad you can't record the output from a send track. The ApeSoft Mixer Send/Receive utility could work if that were the case.
@MatthewAtZenbeats - being able to record a send track could be handy in certain circumstances. Some sort of pass-thru setting or plugin to put on the send track would be handy in cases where you don't want any FX on the send since nothing comes out of a send track unless there's at least one plugin on it at present.
Asking for a friend since I don't think I'd normally have a need for such a thing.
@wim unfortunately I can’t record and then mix down/bounce because I am using the gui of idensity to perform the sounds live so there is no way to record that to automation
Yeh, that's what I figured.
Can you insert an audio recording plugin as the last plugin in the chain and record to it then move the audio from the plugin to a zenbeats track?
I just tried a mix of this and using a send like @wim suggested.
Inserted Neon recorder by 4 pockets on a send track. Configured to sync to host. Set a synth track to send to neon.
It records fine, it’s a handy way to have a send dedicated to record whatever you send into it.
Downside is that it’s sort of tedious to get the audio out from Neon and back into Zenbeats. There’s no clipboard copy/paste from auv3 plugins into Zenbeats. There’s also no drag and drop from auv3 apps to Zenbeats, nor Files app interaction. This means you have to export the file from Neón and then do import from Zenbeats browser. It’s an ugly workflow.
I wish Zenbeats improved the file integration with Files and auv3 plugins.
