Cubasis and Auv3 vocoder

Hello,

I am trying to figure out what Vocoder works in Cubasis and how to use it.

I got Der Voco to run by using the method of having the carrier panned to one side and the modulator to the other side and both being send to a group track. My problem is that on Mixdown Der Voco crashes.

I tried SynthMaster but with no luck. I am probably not doing it wrong or Cubasis does not have the capability.

Any help would be appreciated.

My personal favorite vocoder apps are from Virsyn...Voxsyn pro, and Harmony Eight. They pretty much work as AUv3s.

Harry from @VirSyn is the genius who made Bark filter. His apps are excellent for vocals, and I really wish he'd invest more in making a mellodyne app.

Literally if he combines Reslice, and Voxsyn pro, we'd have one of the best Vocoders/auto tune apps that will rival even the PC market.

Can you explain me how to configure it in Cubasis ?

I primary use Garageband but here's how I do it...at least for Harmony Eight. I put an Easter egg at the end of this video that showed how I use Harmony Eight as an AUv3.

Voloco is a free app. I'd say record the vocals directly in Voloco then export it for use in GarageBand/Cubasis.

But Cubasis is very similar to GarageBand, at least in terms of workflow. Here's how I'd make a project in Cubasis.

I'm currently touring around so I haven't had the time or space to make a dedicated video. But rest assured, I will make more detailed videos when I'm properly settled.

  • Thank you Seon for your videos.

I finally figured out how to use a Auv3 Vocoder in Cubasis.

    Here’s how.

    Add audio track
    Record audio (voice)
Add Auv3 vocoder on the audio track as a Insert effect
    Add midi track
Insert your midi notes that will be send to the vocoder
Go back to the vocoder and at the top of the vocoder window select the midi track to be sent to vocoder.

This is the video that helped me figure it out
