FCBFF 1.1 update
So.... seven years ago, I released a programmer for the Behringer FCB1010; this is a MIDI foot controller, useful for changing patches, toggling effects on and off, stuff like that. I'm mostly a guitarist, but have never gotten into collecting effects pedals. With the FCB, I get all the fun of a pedalboard, while using software effects chains (and saving a TON of money).
I thought I'd sell a dozen copies when the app first came out, but instead, it's been a steady trickle. Never a lot. But every week, one or two copies. Weird. Anyway, it seemed like time to update the app. New in this version is support for slide-over and side-by-side, which makes configuring MIDI learn a LOT easier. I've also added QWERTY keyboard support, so you can turn a regular keyboard into a cheap and portable FCB1010 (Sidecar is obviously the inspiration for that). Also supported is AirDrop sharing of FCB configurations.

Thanks!
thank you.
Awesome
So glad to have this! I'd never have bought my own FCF1010 if it hadn't been for the existence of this wonderful third-party companion app – and yes, I haven't bought an effects pedal since. Thanks so much for the update; slide-over multitasking is a fantastic enhancement.
This looks pretty nice. My only recommendation would be to change this from, buy first, hope it works for you, to a 7-day trial without the ability to program the FCB1010 until purchase. That way I can test out the virtual controls to see if it’s something that will work for my use case.
Also, since my FCB has a firmware version 2.1, I will need to buy an upgraded eeprom. It seems like since I have to buy one, I may as well upgrade to the UNO since it makes some improvements. Supporting the UNO chip would widen your potential user base. Cheers.
I wrote the app for myself, and it's surprised me that I've gotten sales (and they keep coming in, a couple every week or so). I don't want the headache of pay-to-upgrade, and I doubt it would make a big change in sales. There's not that many FCB1010s out in the wild, and I suspect that only a small portion of them have the UNO chip.
I don't know that my app won't support the 2.1 firmware, but it might -- I don't have one to test. I'll drop a promo code for the app in your messages; let me know if it works or not!
So I have an uno chip and I’m thinking about swapping it out for the original eprom and purchasing FCBFF. Been a long time since i used the unit and I can’t remember that much about its capabilities. Anyone know enough to weigh in on the pros and cons of these setups? I’m thinking I might use the FCB more if I could edit on my phone instead of having to fire up my old computer and use that editing software. I think the big deal about the uno was stomp box mode right?
Some of this will depend on what sort of guitar amp sim you're using. My go-to is DB Audioware's 20th Anniversary, and it's easy to map pedals on the FCB to the app (you can toggle things on/off with CC messages, and the FCBs CC support fits exactly). Other amp sims are more of a pain to configure, but you can do it. (20th Anniversary sounds best to me, so I don't muck around with the others that much.)
Thanks for the info SBD. I think I’ll give it a whirl. May as well finally pick up 20th Anniversary while I’ve got a gift card burning a hole in my pocket too.
