This can be said about a lot synths honestly. Are apps “good enough”? That’s up to the individual user. But there are indeed real sonic (and ergonomic) difference.

Not with all digital synths. A cheap analogue can easily sound worse than good software by now, and nobody ever notices. Agree on the ergonomics, but it isn't justified by the economics. Just get a midi-controller and learn it. Bonus is you don't need another plastic enclosure made without longevity as a design feature.

    What is wrong with plastic?

For 100 bucks it does a lot in my setup.

boy you have some nice toys! I'm jealous.

Ha thanks. I don’t get a lot of time to use them these days, a lot of the time I will just fire up the TD-3 with Rozeta bassline for some quick techno.

I got the TD3 MO. I love it.

I have been wanting to try the MO. Seems much more versatile.

There’s a thought. Has anyone got a link to a TD3 smashing it out the park? I struggle a bit to find any (not including the ones that are pumped up with expensive modular effects - like the Blush Response one)

  • Here’s something for you to try - you’ll like this. Use Pure Acid on its Init setting only (no effects - nothing, just the plain wave) then put it through effects in the chain - like ToneStack. Sounds fantastic- this really helps bring out the Envelope, Decay and Accent. It makes a big difference for some reason. Give it a go 😀

Well i don't see this 303 as a blow you away type machine, more a raw liquid bass groove slave. However, if you combine it with modular or guitar pedals it gets nasty. I just think it sounds better than the digital versions when you push it harder.

ps -i hate the flashing LEDs on the bottom though. That is pure trash.

  • Over an hour of classic acid mix, just because.. you know.
