Will we ever get an updated version of SECTOR?

I was wondering if there will ever be an AUv3 version of SECTOR / if any plans for such an upgrade exist. In my dream world I would be able to load my own samples in it or use it as an effect on a sample playback channel. I dont need any effects or fancy functionality. Just the interface and the sequencer to trigger the individual sectors. It is one of the most interesting regrover apps I know of but I really wish it would be a bit more useful.

Love! <3

  • If you address the developer, there's a chance of an actual answer.

  • I would love an AUv3 Sector. It would be so amazing!

  • Would be happy to pay Again for an av3 version

  • +1 to that! I’d also love to see Sector as an auv3 and perhaps with some new crazy features added as well.

    1. AUv3 and a live input capability would be fantastic … I asked the dev about this a while back and he said it was definitely on his list, though it wouldn’t hurt if there is increased interest about it.

    2. You can already load your own samples through the SND menu

  • quick shameless plug of my WTFKnobs on Sector (well, just the MAP SEQ and WRP buttons)

I thought by posting here I essentially do that no?

Do you know the Dev directly? Exactly! Nice to know that others are waiting too haha. :P

This right here. I wouldnt think twice.

  • I just discovered Sector the other day. (Usually I just ignore non-auv3 stuff.)
But it is absolutely awesome. Would be the best thing since sliced bread if it worked with live input and was auv3.

I am digging into LoopyPro atm and it would be so incredible to just record a loop and hand it over to SECTOR to regroove it without export / import etc.

No but his contact details are available (see above) and he’s been pretty good with responding.

  • On the topic of Sector: Any suggetions for auv3 plugins that are in the same ballpark?
I have Replicant and it is not bad, but not nearly as fun and “ear candy” as Sector.

  • I know it’s not the same thing, but maybe Aphelian will quench that thirst? (If not, it will definitely keep you busy for a while!)

I would suggest Scatterbrain and Glitchcore

BeatCutter (if you are a quantum chromodynamics post-doc).

  • If you like the jagged lines in Sector that create nonlinear timeline playback effects, you could build this in Drambo I believe.

    • Scatterbrain and your choice of effects
    • GlitchCore and Scatterbrain with your choice of effects
    • Tornado Effectrix…

    Suggested FX for the above
Delay: TTAP, Other Desert Cities, Shaper2
Crush: BitMaestro (seriously people get this)
    CrushStation
    Pitch Shift: Eventide QVox Crystals
    Filters: Sugarbytes WOW
    Modulation: k machine WOV

  • And yes beatcutter

  • Drambo + Flexisampler + Mozaic + Effects

  • I would definitely pay again for an AUv3 version of Sector.

  • Sugarbytes Egoist maybe? Blocs Wave is good at the slice rearranging. It’s not an AU but you do have eight to play with at the same time.

No, not many devs come here to just interact or scroll through posts but some come if you call on/tag them. Jonathan usually do so - hence my suggestion.
