Halloween Muzak

Something to play on a loop for Trick or Treat Night to set the mood::

Comments

  • This is a very nice loop for Halloween, indeed!!!
    Thanks for this!

  • There’s definitely a spooky ambiance to this. Would pair well with some rattling chains, eerie howls and ghostly wailing. Shame I don’t get Trick or Treaters in my neighborhood. I would put this to good use. Guess it’ll just have to be the background to me eating way too much candy.

  • I’m too late for Halloween but really enjoyed that, thought it was one of the best of your recent ones 👍
Went a bit James Bond at about 2:20 I thought + great slow down at the end.

Thanks for the feedback @GeoTony. That whole James Bond vibe is based on chromatic movement of the 5th or a chord.
In this case its C minor and the 5th G moves between the G and up a 1/2 step to the Ab and back again. Then to even increase the sense of loose moorings the whole tonality starts slipping up and down by 1/2 steps.

  • I really like this piece. Your strings are perfect. What did you use ?

I will look at the score in the morning. At the start the strings are notating with that little circular “open harmonic” notation. I think it’s Spitfire Chamber Strings to keep it light and airy. I love the unintended portmento that happens in the large melodic leap in there. It might also be a collection of soloists playing together which has an open sound.

You're using the Spitfire Chamber Strings in way that brings out the library strength, that's very smart. This is one of your best arrangement, IMO. Sounds really great. I like the composition, very nice chord progression.
This library will definitely be my next purchase on the next sales (hopefully on black Friday)

  • I liked this one a lot. I agree with @JanKun - great composition. I like the violin solo at 1:38 and the subtle key changes like the one at 2:24. The gradual tempo change at the end was perfect for this piece.

  • I checked… it’s Spitfire Chamber strings with Tina Guo Cello for the cello solo after the voices come in.

That cello sounds bloody good !

Very very nice, like a laid back Danny Elfman tracking some Tim Burton nonsense… :) And you did this by scoring, not playing? Colour me impressed!

  • Listened to it again ! It sounds really good. I really wish French horn comes in at 2:24 with the key modulation !

That should be easy to add… as you know. You just paint some more dots on the French horns.
