80's Music production on the Ipad

Seems like a lot of ipad stuff is aimed toward vintage gear emulations like korgs ipolysix and arturias synths which happen to be my favorite. and even a Fairlight cmi (thank god cause I love the 80s and new wave)

Feature request is micropitch (for vocals in my instance). It was also used on guitar and everything else and as soon as you hear it a light will turn on. its an undeniable sound that widens and thickens the source. It's an effect made popular in the 80s via ams delay and the more popular eventide h3000 presets. Soundtoys just made a plug in for 129$ that does this called microshift but I want to bring that over to the ipad for quick demos. basically its just a spread effect that takes the mono vocal and delays the right by about 7 ms and pitches it -5 to 9 cents and the right about 10 ms and pitched + the same 5 to 9 cents. This is what i've come to find in the 80's vocal production thats so hard to pinpoint. and of course vintage reverbs like lexicons. If anyone else knows how to set this up in auria via some in app purchases of the plugins or any other cool 80s production tips relevant to the ipad please respond. Anything modeling any of the classic h3000 presets would be desirable actually. great unit : ) still wish there was a juno or jupiter or as much vocal app support as there is synth app support on the ipad. we could use a really good pro vocal app. maybe one day.

  • I've never tried it but I think Auria's Retune will help with this. Or maybe you could recreate it with ToneStack's dual paths?

  • Aufx dub does have a detune feature on the delay, it's not exactly the same but it is close. I would love a version of microshift for certain things as well ( the js plugin in reaper that does it is called "ozzifier." I love that!). I used to do it in waves doubler effect and it worked well, but of course waves is not on iOS, nor do I own their plugins anymore for my desktop.

  • You might want to check out the Stereo Designer app to see if it meets your needs.

Altispace has H3000 presets. For pitch shifting and voice doubling, look at apps like Harmony Voice, Vocalive or Autotune iOS, and there are more, some inside amp modelers such as ToneStack.

edit: those apps will work on other instruments too, not just voice, when piped through Audiobus, some might have IAA too.
