My Nights on Mars
Here is the first track I was talking about in another post.
I started it in cakewalk in July and finished it in NS2 and Virsyn Audiolayer and lot of plugins. I had to recreate all my sample patches on iPad and I actually prefer them now. I really love this way of making music. Having to simplify some tracks and get to the essence of what I was trying to do was very enjoyable.

I love the sounds your using… they are akin to an orchestral pallet but enriched with “glass bowl” and subtle sampled sources that are not found in the orchestral catalog in general. I’m sure there are composers just putting a synth on stage and adding these fresh sounds too. They seem to be creeping into film music and I suspect a lot of film music is just using desktop tools and skipping the whole rental orchestra. Who would detect the difference.
Thank you again @McD for taking time to listen to my music.
I don't know about real film music, I think the big productions that can afford it go for the real orchestra, and the little guys use sample libraries maybe.
There is a difference, but I don't think it really matters when watching a movie.
In this music I didn't really use much of an orchestral pallet actually except for strings (layered with synths and noises) and woods.
Listened to this last night on YT, and it’s stunning.
I haven't had time to listen to many creations recently, and wow, so glad I clicked on this one. Sublime. Well done.
Thank you @bygjohn @belldu for taking time to listen.
Has that soaring hugeness appropriate to the title. Wonder and mystery…
Thank you @Svetlovska
Missed this the first time. Have to listen with phones later but sampled sections and it sounds excellent. Is this iOS?
yes, I started to record what I wrote in Cakewalk, but then I got interested in IOS music, and finished the recording in NS2 and audiolayer after I converted the sample libraries I was using for this:
Audiolayer when I needed velocity layers, and NS2 integrated sampler when I needed to control dynamic/expression and sweeps with my controller.
Lots of impressive textures here.
I also checked your pictures on your website. There is a real coherence between your visual and audio work. Glad you joined the forum !
Better sound than the very compressed YouTube sound on
