Koala to Cubasis problems

Hi everybody,
yesterday I wanted record a little sequence from Koala into Cubasis but I had a lot of problems: the main one is that, even if the two apps are linked through Ableton Link, when I press start Koala doesn’t play but a first sound and I can’t record it in Cubasis…
I don’t remember having changed anything from the last time i did this…

I’ve tried with Blocs Wave and Groovebox and I could record correctly (apart that I don’t see Groovebox icon in the Cubasis track inspector)

I also tried via interapp audio and I coul record… I’m missing something… 🤔

Thank you for helping,

A

  • Try hosting Koala as an AUV3 in Cubasis.
Then in Cubasis create an empty midi-region (which is as long as the song/sequence you have in Koala) on the track and use 'track freeze' to render the Koala output as audio.

When Koala runs as an AUv3 its transport syncs with the hosts transport, no need for Link.

    Good luck!

    Hi Samus,
great advice! I tried it and everything was ok.
Have you any idea about the AudioBus problem? (AUV3 is fine but I woul like to understand why it's not running correctly...)
    Thank you very much,

Personally I have no real need for AudioBus.app. This forum is dope though :sunglasses:

Most of the time when I need to get audio from other apps I look for export functions.
In the case of Groovebox I always export audio from it and import it to other apps when needed.

As for AudioBus and Link related issues I have no advice to give at this moment.
(It could even be a Link SDK version miss-match, so things only the respective apps developers can fix).

    Cheers!

There are other options, actually, but I hate when I don't understand... I'm a bit stubborn ;)

I don't use mobile apps too much but this forum is very useful and in my few posts I've always had good answers!

Thank you again and good music!

What Audiobus problem? You didn’t mention Audiobus. Can you post screenshots shots of how you has each app set up.

  • You’re absolutely right, espiegel123!
I must have deleted some passage editing my first post so, when I mention AudioBus in the following ones, it appears weird…

I attach some picture of my setting (I’m using link but I’m afraid I’m doing something wrong…); the problem is that when I try to play a sequence in Koala, after setting AudioBus, it stops after a few notes…

    Hope pictures can help,
