Vampyr - the after party

Sooo… first of all, well done to all involved, and special thanks to @synthi for pulling it all together so professionally. :)

Now the second shoe drops…

I have a Distrokid account, and am happy to use it, and Bandcamp, to punt out a soundtrack album of the event, with @iOSTRAKONs fab artwork as cover, obvs, if @iOSTRAKON is cool with that…

I am happy to pick up the fifty quid-ish fee to create a permanent ‘legacy’ release which goes out on all major streaming platforms, Spotify, Tidal Deezer, Apple etc, in perpetuity, even if I subsequently cancel my Distrokid account. I am currently punting out one album of my own shit every other month, so I am happy to take this one for the team, anything else starts getting too complicated.

I like the idea of it being a single seamless sonic event as per our movie soundtrack, which presumably would only involve @Synthi sending me one big old wav file of the total soundtrack.

I don’t imagine that this is going to make any money, ever, but I’m cool with looking into doing it as an equal split to all contributors, or to donate any monies received to a suitable good cause - maybe @michael for creating the space where it happened, or a charity we all can agree on.

Needless to say, everyone would always retain all rights to their own section, and would be free to use their piece elsewhere .

Thoughts?

  • All money I make from music goes straight to charity anyway, so I'm down with that approach.

  • Sounds great @Svetlovska !

  • It’s totally fine with me, including the charity aspect or giving it to Michael

I like the idea of one honkin’ big track.

  • Sounds cool to me. And yes, one long track is a great idea, and means we can leave @Synthi ‘s outstanding work intact.

  • If dough comes in take your fifty back first.

  • Yep I'm cool with the charity thing but like I said to you before, definitely take your 50 quid out of any money that comes through first. And thanks for offering to sort this!

  • I am also OK with the idea of legacy track and money to charity.
Really enjoyed watching and listening with everyone and would definitely be up for another at some point.

  • Interestingly I did have a couple of people outside of esteemed colleagues here ask me who did which section, I’m not sure if it’s that good an idea to go into that granularity in publishing it, but interesting that it was the first question they had (after their kind comments that is)

Also if @Svetlovska can recover the investment from any sales that’d be great, though I appreciate it might not be that simple for her to sort out, and perhaps just not a priority from her perspective… any which way it’s a lovely thing to do for us all!

  • I checked, it’s cheaper than I remembered - $29 dollars - to do the perpetuity thing on Distrokid, I can cover it, and don’t need it back. I undertake here and now to report any sales to the group on this forum, and will donate any such proceeds to… something.

I’ll keep receipts of sales and donations, and anyone who wants to can ask to see them. And it’ll explicitly credit all contributors on the album, and state that all rights remain with the author of the relevant section.

I’m just waiting on getting the full mix track from @Synthi and, hopefully, the best quality art assets from @iOSTRAKON before putting it together. I’ll check with everyone re credits etc before publishing.

Open to suggestions re a charity, or does @Michael have a tip jar?

  • Love the idea, @Svetlovska, perfectly happy for @Michael to profit from this.

    Otherwise, I suggest: https://voices.org.ua/en/

  • Perfect @Svetlovska! I`m sending you the Master in .wav format
@Krupa, I think would be great clearing who did what section, even writing it ion the youtube description. Its fair that way, we have a compilation of works that conform a large piece, but also is comprising of different pieces by different artists, and each one deserves his credits. maybe there is a hidden opportunity for one of us

  • By all means!

Could be timestamped - easiest way

  • Very kind of you guys to think of me, but definitely go with a worthy charity for receiving any income.
