BeatHawk Studio grand sounds strange (fixed)

I bought it on sale and it sounds like finger muted guitar picking, anybody else have this issue? This is 9n iOS 14 and iPad 6th gen

Edit it works great on iPhone 11

  • Is BeatHawk Studio Grand a new inapp? The Acoustic Grand was rather highly rated in the way back.

  • Check out the Numa player. sounds sick.

  • Is this in the standalone version or the AUv3 version? Are you using bluetooth headphones or wired headphones?

  • BeatHawk sounds are not good

    ???

  • In my opinion, Beathawk sounds are good. However, it depends on what you're using it as and whether or not you're using Bluetooth headphones vs wired headphones.

In my experience, when I use Beathawk in standalone mode with Bluetooth headphones, it sounds tinny with noticeable background noise. But when I use it as an AUv3 such as within AUM or NS2, everything sounds as it should sound.

The Studio Grand pack sounds very good to my ears, especially the Cinematic Piano. Beathawk is also the only AUv3 app with authentic-sounding world sounds.

  • I’m pretty disappointed in almost all the piano provided since I own a couple dozen piano apps.

The one distinguished piano for my needs is the “SG Basic Hall”. It’s super quiet (I had to add apps to raise the gain) but it’s
Perfect for a very soft focus piano. If you have Pure Piano is sounds like the option where the dot is a fraction of an inch above the lower left corner. No notes have a hard attack… it’s the exact opposite of a piano (like most Yamahas) that can cut through a mix. This one requires everybody else to get out of the way to be heard.

Is that worth $9.99? You have to be a true piano nerd I think. One that just buys ‘em and tinkers around until the next one shows up.

I can see hope the OP might find it to be ”muted”.

There’s also a folder labeled “Processed Piano” and it includes options like a “Bowed Piano”… might be useful for people that want something piano-like in some weird way.

I feel called out. 😉 Lol.

  • I like the Studio Grand very much.

The year 2022 biggest bullshit talk!!!

Sure, perhaps you’re an old construction worker with hearing disability…

To be clear - UVI:s Beathawk app on iPad has a bunch of great sounding intrument, perhaps best on Apple mobile platform…

    I LOVE BEATHAWK!!!

😂 Old construction worker with hearing problems, thank you for that giggle 🤭

Guess the one upside of that condition would be that you'd have zero need to buy LoFi apps 🤔🤓

  • My normal BH piano pack has been a mainstay. I feel like I got a glitchy download or something

  • @ehehehe said:
One misconception could be that the BH sounds are pretty dry, like you have to apply your own fx chains to really make them shine. I like this alot compared to synths or romplers that have patches drenched in fx that must be disabled in order to sit better in a mix.

This is what I like about Beathawk also. Drier sounds, apply my own effects (often Bleass effects), and mix it to perfection. :) Some of the Beathawk presets do have BH's reverb turned up by default, but it's easy to slide it back down.

All of the Asian instruments you hear in "Sakura" are from Beathawk AUv3. https://jwmmakerofmusic.bandcamp.com/album/sakura It's a fantastic app/rompler. I plan to use the Celtic sounds to create an Irish EP with a couple of original tunes on it. To be released in March around my birthday. ;)

All Pianos sound terrible, Beethoven, Mozart, Rachmaninov: all idiot-fanboys! And honestly the entire universe doesn’t make sense unless you admit everything is a tie for the worst.

    You have achieved nirvana. Congrats.

  • Maybe try restoring/Re downloading again see if that fixes the problem??

  • …sounds like shit

Run it through a de-esser and it will sound like a hit. (Okay, leaving…)

Good to hear. Perhaps be kind to the developer by ammending your somewhat harsh title...
