Quick question do u have to Download the 1.2 GB of free loops in one package or can you download them individually as you go? Or are they referring to the free sample packs on their website
Thnx for the keyboard tip. And as you will have noticed, the preset buttons worked fine later on the vid, as they did before. But they definitely weren't working fine at a certain point in the vid. Weird little glitch I guess
As I mention in the vid, you have the choice to download individual packs if you want 👍
Can you manually assign tempo to a sample in this? I had an instrumental one go all screwy with incorrect timestretching.
Not that I'm aware of.
While I'm enjoying using this app and getting some interesting loops as a result, the lack of any kind of user sample editing features (e.g. simple ADSR, slice start point adjustment), tempo/key assignment (as per Blocs) or transient detection makes it more of a 'whacky source tool' for me, rather than a useful musical one.
Hopefully they'll add a few more features before releasing Loopmix 2!
Someone mentioned 'Rubberband'

Yes, Rubberband does not compare with Zynaptiq's library, one is a free algo and the other feeds major DAWs. We tried Rubberband last year and with X6 sequencers we end up with ~85% CPU
i believe that Rubberband is used by Loppy pro.It seems CPU friendly, at least on my iPad.
What weirds me out is that so often (even on the official Loopmix walkthrough video), the play speed of a sample has to be 0.5x to make Loopmix play the sample at the ‘proper’ speed. Changing the play speed to 1x changes 4 bars into 2 bars. But surely, ‘1x’ should play the sample through at its default, proper speed (taking account of time stretching).
Why is this?!
EDIT: Ahhhh, is it that it’s not taking account of speed but length, so an 8 bar loop needs to be at 0.5x for it to play 4 bars in the 4 bar loop space? And 16 bars needs to be 0.25x?

I had a lot of fun chopping this legendary Masood Boomgaard ‘When you have a Bad Day clip in Loopmix and adding Unfiltered Audio’s Needlepoint. Loopmix is just so damn fun.
Workflow:
Took a screen recording of the legendary TikTok clip by Masood and shared it to Audioshare from the Photos app using Share Video to App from the share menu. I then loaded multiple instances to tracks in Loopmix and also added some drums from some of the free downloadable Audiomodern Loopmix preset packs and went from there.
It doesn’t seem possible to download them from there
Strange.. they all seem to be linked to the factory content.. except one..
Hmm….I downloaded the whole thing, so I didn’t actually try this, but it looked like you could. I’ll message the devs about that.
Btw, I posted this in another thread, but think it is worth posting here too - a nice example of how Loopmix can be used in very ambient and experimental ways. This is turning out to be my favourite Audiomodern app by a country mile! Seriously love it amd think it is ridiculously underpriced at $10. Will make my top 5 apps of the year, no doubt about it.
Already got a reply from the devs. Turns out, yes, currently you have to download the whole thing, so I was wrong about that in my vid. But then you can delete whatever presets you don’t want. They may look into allowing individual preset downloads.
Posted this elsewhere but think it’s worth posting here to show that Loopmix can most definitely be used for ambient / experimental
