sheet music app that allows to write music and export midi files?
The way I work most of the time, I write down my music ideas, and later play and record each track, especially when I'm far from my gear.
I was wondering if there was an IOS app that would allow me to kinda bypass the recording:
I would write down my music on sheet music on screen with the Apple Pencil, would need various time signatures, keys, and full score.
Does such an app exist?

Notion, Dorico, Sibelius. Prices and features vary.
StaffPad.

thanks, seems staffpad is what I'm looking for
Definitely recommend Staffpad. Time signature possible per bar, tempo track and you can export your score as MIDI, XML audio file or you can share your staffpad score with someone who owns the app for collaborative efforts.
The stock sounds are more than decent, but you can purchase third party libraries from Orchestral Tools, Spitfire and Cinesamples that can help your create extremely convincing Orchestral mock ups.
Here are a few exemples of some score I worked on recently.

To try it out, Notion has 90% of it’s features For free with a $15 IAP to add handwriting recognition.
It’s free because it’s a component of a hardware companies business to hopefully sell more hardware audio interfaces.
They bundle all their software products into a subscription service for $15 a month but most are not IOS. Notion Mobile is
Included in the subscription bundle with all the extras.
Their primary software product is “Studio One” which competes with Logic Pro at a dramatically lower cost. You used to get it free with any hardware purchase. This $15/month model is the new thing for the hardware vendors with software products:
Roland Cloud for example.
what is most important for me is handwriting recognition.
which one works best in that aspect in your opinion @McD ?
I have labored over Staffpad recognition and I’m getting there.
I own but have not worked on Notion’s handwriting.
I love the interop between the 2. For long passages of 16’s I love the step entry in Notion.
It’s probably faster for complex notations too given my recognition percentage with Staffpad.
Passing between the 2 is so easy… tho’ it’s mostly Notion to Staffpad. Complex scores pass best with Music XML.
So, I encourage adoption of Staffpad to grow a community… a Discord for staffpad started this week but composer’s are a bit of a weird lot. There are similar to academics and not strictly speaking “artists” but knowledge gate keepers offering to share deep hard earned “truths”.
Too bad they don’t make a trial version.
I don’t like step entry, it is really awkward for me. I tried a note taking app with blank sheet music but it isn’t a great option. I like the idea of an app reformatting my handwriting in something I could easily share. The option of exporting to a daw would be great for fast previews, but if the app has decent samples for that like staffpad the export would not be really needed in the end since I’d have to record each track anyway (I hate quantize)
You should try Notion for free and put $15 into adding the extra sounds and the handwriting recognition.
Staffpad periodically drops to $40 and Black Friday is coming.
Notion upgraded their sounds and they are closer to Staffpad in realism now.
