Best way to set up MIDI patch bay in AUM?
Greetings. I have three devices that output MIDI—two hardware plus MIDI tape recorder. I’d like to be able to choose which one I send where during a session in AUM. I can do that manually with the MIDI matrix but I’d like a more elegant solution. Is there a way to set up selectable “presets” of MIDI routings that I can switch instantly?

I think that the new-ish AUM feature of MIDI busses is worth checking into. I would be more specific, but I haven't messed around with them more than a few minutes. I think they can be leveraged for this purpose though.
If that doesn't have what you need then I think @_ki ' s Midi Matrix Switch Mozaic script might have what you need.
Thank you. I was poking around on MIDI busses but I admit they didn't work the way I expected. Will go searching for a tutorial. It looks like the matrix is per channel, and I was thinking per project.
Remember that you can route one MIDI source to multiple destinations in the AUM routing matrix. If you route a source to several StreamByter scripts that optionally transmit or block the MIDI stream, you can send the output of each script to a different destination, using the scripts as on/off switches.
So I am trying to figure out the best way to use MIDI bus functionality. If I’ve got 3 possible sources and 6 possible destinations, what would be the most efficient way to set it up? Should each bus be a particular configuration of destinations and sources, and then I unmute the configuration I want to use? Should each bus be a full “preset” of sources and destinations? I’m curious what others are doing.

Or do I have a default basic routing in the MIDI matrix and then use the busses to add additional routings?
I realize these all “work” and are ultimately preference, but I’m curious what others are doing.
