Second WAVES for Tera Pro

edited November 2022 in General App Discussion

The WAVES module added classic Wavetable synthesis to the sound palette of Tera Pro. It’s an optional module which you can purchase separately.

Shown here is the new version adding another independent WAVES oscillator module to Tera Pro.
Now up to 4 wavetable oscillators can be used for one patch.

Just tweaked a preset a bit while the arpeggiator was noodling...

Update should be available in about a week.

Thanks. I was going to mention that and ask for the direct App Store link. I have Teraverse but I want to make sure I buy the right Tera as I see another.

  • Question, can you import your own wavetable files, say from Serum?

Best to @VirSyn when asking this, I can't actually remember whether u can import your own but maybe someone else can

  • Well, that’s pretty cool!

@sfm did a pretty great deep dive series on TP for those with questions or desire for thorough guided tour.

Thx, I already have TP but haven’t bought the iap, was hoping someone would have a simple yes or no answer, I’ll just buy it and find out for myself lol
Also I see that video was from months ago before the wavetable oscillator was available so it probably would answer wether you can import users wavetables, thanks though.

    Yes, importing works great!

Thanks @VirSyn for adding multiple wavetables. Was hoping for this update.

Thanks, I literally just came back from buying an AppStore gift card, I’ve been looking for something like Serum which I use a lot where I can also import wavetables. I was looking at the new BLEASS wavetable synth, which I’ll still probably grab but you can’t import user wavetables, at least not now. This will really be great , especially after the update. 👍🏽🙏

there's now a weird glitch with the randomizer- if the randomizer selects the wave table oscillator subsequent presses of the random button will only randomize the wave of the wave table oscillator and no other parameters- odd

I have the original Tera and don’t really like it, but I really love Teraverse (especially the morphing feature)! Based on that, how should I feel about Tera Pro? 😅

Right. I wasn’t saying you specifically, More so new TP users like myself who need a guide to explore everything this beast can do. It’s actually much much deeper than i could have imagined and Leo does a great job of breaking it down. I’m sure he’ll be covering the wave table module soon. Sooner if we nudge him.lol

Ok got it, I’ll definitely watch it, I haven’t really delved too deep into it since I bought it but I did get the wavetable osc iap and thankfully you can import your own waves so that’s a major plus!!!

  • Hell yea 🔥

TeraVerse is the TeraPro engine uses TeraPro presets. So, if you like it, you will almost very like TeraPro

  • Does the Teraverse use the same amount of CPU power as the TeraPro or less? I have TeraPRO, but I'm considering to purchase Teraverse as well if I can use more instances in AUM etc. Thanks.

In theory there might be a small advantage of Teraverse regarding needed CPU power but I don't think this justifies the extra cost.
    But...
( caution: shameless self promotion )
the added possibility of morphing two sounds makes it worth every cent ;)
    ( end of promotion )

The simplest way to reduce CPU power with multiple instances is to reduce the number of voices in Unison mode. This is used in more patches than maybe needed and doesn't alter the timbre too much in the context of other sounds.

Very effective is also reducing the Max. Polyphony - the standard setting is 128 - down to a more reasonable level.

  • these are some seriously compiles sounds entering my ears

Dear @VirSyn: Thanks for the reply and explanation. Morphing is a good argument, but the BF sale is even better ;) Purchased. All the best :)
