Bristol Manor - my 7th album just dropped
Hey everyone - just a message to let everyone know my 7th Bristol Manor album 'A Distant Urban Forest' is live today on streaming platforms & bandcamp. This one continues on with more of my trademark "Downtempo, uptempo" as Tim from Discchord once said (I miss that site!).
I used Nanostudio2 to put together all the tracks this time - but a few started as AUM jams using various apps and then ported over to NS2. I used Sythmaster2 ALOT on this album - I think every track has at least 2-3 instances, some use several. Along with that, used a bit of the built-in Obsidian synth, some Synthmaster1, Bleass SampleWiz2, TAL UnoLX, & a few others I forget - plus many of the built-in NS2 effects (which I find quite good!), Bleass motion fx quite a bit... a little Effectrix, K7delay, & some other tidbits along the way.
Curious as always to hear what people think of it - my last album was very well received, and I feel this one is much stronger overall.

Congratulations on another release, I’m a huge fan of your previous albums and I can’t wait to take a listen.
Great to hear about your workflow, I also really enjoy using NS2, definitely the best UI out there.
I’ll take a listen tomorrow and report back 😀
@Halftone this is a really great album, excellent all the way through. I love the dark atmospheres you create and this album delivers them in spades.
The sound design is great as well, the textures on the synth bass instruments are delicious, the vocal samples are always really interestingly mangled, and the leads and pads all fit together beautifully.
The bass lines and melodies are top-notch as well. A terrific addition to your already great discography.
Excellent as always!!!! You deserve over a 1000+ listens on Spotify with this!!!!!
thanks richard - always keen to hear your thoughts - and always appreciated! I wish I could convey my thoughts on things like this better - your observations are thoughtful and on point.
thank you for your support!!!
I am halfway through this album. Wow. It sounds great. Very deep and complex sound textures, great use of samples, and amazing production. You know your "Bristology" inside out !
I feel stupid and terribly sorry discovering your brilliant music only now... Good news is I have 6 more albums to discover !
Thank you sharing !
Had a skim, track 4 is a lovely slice of triphop!
thanks @JanKun! I hope you enjoy them all! haha The first 3-4 were a little rough around the edges. This new one, and my previous one 'Going Nowhere' have been a little more polished - I spent more time tweaking a note or two here & there, or tried several attempts at mastering tracks... but it appears the hard work is paying off as there seems to be a bit of minor buzz for this album release. I'm glad people seem to be loving it.
thank you good sir - for listening, commenting, AND the retweet!!
Just listened to the whole album on a decent speaker… very nice. Great rhythms, a sort of dark atmosphere on most tracks but sort of uplifting at the same time. Excellent bass sounds throughout. Even my partner said it was ‘nice’ which is more than I get most of the time 😊
A huge thank you to both you and your partner @GeoTony ! appreciate the nice comments!!
Awesome! Glad you liked it - and thanks for adding it to your library.
