Wavesfactory trackspacer type app

Is it possible to sidechain an eq in AUM like you can with this plugin?
Just found it and thought it was pretty awesome.

  • It basically takes a tracks incoming signal eq and apply it (flipped) to another track as a sidechain.

The challenge is not so much the EQ but rather the analyzer which needs to send enough information to control an EQ.
It could be built in a modular synth but I know of no app that would do it.

  • With some care, you might be able to setup a side-chainable multi band compressor like the one from blue mangoo

Yep and I was planning on using tb eq for dynamic sidechain as well.
That is such a cool tool though as it carves out that specific eq to clear that space.

    Good idea!
I haven't tried it yet but I guess that the TB EQ's side chain input adjustment on each band will always use the same unfiltered sidechain input signal so you'll likely need multiple instances, one for each analysis band.
Should much like a vocoder except that the outputs of the analysis bands are used to decrease the respective gain of each output band.

  • Surprisingly good discussion about how Trackspacer works (once you get past the first few posts). https://www.dogsonacid.com/threads/trackspacer-equivalent.801287/

  • Any news since then? Maybe a stock tool within Logic?

Found out that Match EQ in Logic can be used for this, it can learn the frequency curve through its sidechain or a file, and then apply the curve (and negtive curve) to the channel it's on!

There is isn’t any app like it , if it’s was straight forward side chaining trackspacer would not have been in vogue
Closest for me on iOS has been pro3 using the frequency clash feature
