Drambo preset not loaded in AUM?

What am I doing wrong?

I have a made a little midi processor in Drambo, that sits on a midi track in AUM. I have saved the Drambo thing as an “AUM preset”, (but also as a preset inside Drambo, for good measure.)
I save the AUM project, but next time I open, the Drambo preset is not loaded. (Drambo loads, but is empty.)

I must be missing something here…?

  • Hi @LarsDaniel . This "works for me". Are you maybe not viewing the correct Drambo track? Use the numbered boxes under the rack display to select the track.

Of course, you must have saved the AUM session with the final version of your Drambo model. Remember, when you save an AUM session with the same name, you get an "Overwrite" prompt that must be tapped to confirm. It only appears briefly, so it's easy to tap "Save" and overlook the overwrite prompt. Try loading the Drambo preset that you saved, and resaving the AUM session.

Finally, Drambo in the restored session will not know the preset name. It just receives the model from the host, which could be anything.

    Yep, always on track one.

Yep, I load the Drambo thing I did. Everything works. Save (and overwite) AUM project. Clear AUM. Load The saved AUM, and now Drambo is empty.
Now I tried this: I made a new midi track in AUM, and made a dummy (just a midi monitor), saved and reloaded AUM, and then Drambo correctly loads the dummy, but the Drambo with my midi processor is empty again.

I can add, that I made the midi processor in Drambo on another iPad, and airdropped it to the one in use. But I can not quite see if that is relevant, because when I open the Drambo project it works perfectly. AUM just refuses to remember it.

Finally, Drambo in the restored session will not know the preset name. It just receives the model from the host, which could be anything.

Good, I suspected that it works like that.

  • Ok, I found something, the dummy I made, that loaded fine: It sits on track 1.
But my midi processor, when I load it it sits on Main and I can not even acces the other Drambo tracks. I am not sure about how it ended up on Main, but it seems I need to transfer it to a normal track to get AUM to remember it.

Hmmm. When you create a "new" Drambo project, you can select a template. You may have chosen a special template that's not ideal for your purpose.

Did you try viewing Main in the restored AUM session?

Also, do you have the same Drambo version on both devices? That might be confusing, especially if a new project is loaded into an old version of Drambo.

  • Thanks again for your help. Highly appreciated. I seem to keep running into roadblocks. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Anyways, I found a Mozaic script that does the same (a CC slew function), so now I use Mozaic.
(And in the process of learning iOS music making, I am also trying to learn to not have to solve every problem, but to find solutions that work.)
